At the moment I cannot afford to buy one of the heavy weapon safes so I’m planning to make my own.
I have in the back of the house a room that I don’t really use. It is my hobby room and it has a shelve for some groceries, used as a little pantry for can food, noodles, rice etc.
I put me a work bench in it and plan to take my hobby to the next level and learn how to reload my ammo.
I’m planning to install a full wood core (1 ¾”) room door on the room, equipped with an automatic door closing unit. Inside the room is a little wall closet. The closet measures 27” by 70”. I’ll think I replace this door also with a full core wood door (1 ¾”) installing 3 additional pad locks and use the wall closet as a kind of safe. The room has 1 window (50” by 50”) and I planning to install a ¾” metal bar grit on it.
The room will contain:
4 little fire safe boxes with different documents, Passport etc…
Inventory today:
Weapons:
1 H & R INC Model 733 Cal 32 S&W L
1 Smith & Wesson Model 586 Cal 357 mag.
1 Walther PPK .380
1 Bersa 380
2 Walther P 38 9X19
1 Taurus PT 92 9X19
1 Walther PPX 9X19
1 Smith & Wesson SD9VE
1 CZ 550 Varmint Cal. .308
1 Schmidt Rubin K 31 Cal 7.5 X 55 Swiss
Ammo:
1 250 rounds 9X19 mm, 75 rounds 32 S&W Long, 230 rounds .380, 40 rounds 357 mag., 120 rounds .308 and 220 rounds 7.5 X 55 Swiss.
What U guys think? Is this a possibility to store weapons and ammo in a safe way until I can afford a big heavy Industrial produced weapon safe?
