I own a Model 625-3, 5" barrel, that I'm going to use with a red dot scope mounted. It's a pre-D&T model, so I found a Weaver 307S on eBay, and it's on its way.

I noticed that the yoke that fits the frame, metal-to-metal. And, in checking past threads, the yoke will mar the metal over time.

Has anyone found something that can be used between the yoke and frame which will keep the frame from being marred? I've thought about Teflon tape, or something like that to wrap the yoke arms.

Any ideas? Inquiring minds want to know. :D :D :D

Thanks.

I don`t think they recommend a 307s on a N frame,altho the box says
K L N frame.

The 307 and 307s are for k or L frames and the 309 and 309s are for N-frames .Hopefully the seller can take it back .

I have a 686, and I can use it on that one. I went to Weigand's web site and ordered the "Weigatinny" rail for it. I'll take it to my local 'smith, and have him drill and tap the top of the frame for it. I have two red dots laying around, and I want to put both of them to use.

Thanks for the info, guys.

This model also uses the original sight mounting screw. Watch your loads as heavy loads can shear the screw off and then it is precision drill and tap time to remove the stub and recut the threads. Take it to a"good" machinist or gunsmith.
