Webber or not to barbeque

That's Traeger and yes they are very nice but, they are also VERY expensive. They do however, offer features I've never seen offered on any other brand grill (wood burning or charcoal) ............like controllable, consistent temperatures. Takes the guess work out of figuring out how much or how little fuel to use to get the correct result.

The Traeger is by far superior to the Weber in my opinion. Have owned several of the Weber’s in different sizes over the years. They are good grills, no doubt. However, having used the Traeger now for several years, I’m not going back. Better temperature control, great smoking flavors with various types of pellets, great to bake on, easy to clean, etc.

I realize now that some people associate Weber with gas grills. My Weber comments are for the charcoal kettle. You can throttle down the Weber 22" kettle to a cool smoke if you want by controlling the top vent. I just did a Beef Brisket on the Weber for 7 hours no problem. I have friends that really like their Traeger, whatever works for you.

As much as I really enjoy the taste of BBQ on a real Charcoal fired Grill, I admit to not having the patience anymore to own one. I grew up using a Charcoal Grill and of course I was the designated BBQ'er when I was a teenager - so been there, done that!

We BBQ often in the Spring, Summer & Fall (at least twice a week & sometimes more) and even use the BBQ for Pizza when my wife brings it home. It is SOOOOO much better on the Grill, crispy, very hot and makes it ready to eat in minutes. :)

A gas grill isn't BBQ, it's just cooking outside.

The first Weber we owned was a Spirit E-310 we had for 10 years and when we sold the house we left it there still running for the new owners. We would have taken it with us but in the new house I had a gas line put in for the next Weber rather then deal with the tanks. Now 12 years later the new one again a Spirit E 310 with the gas line is still running like the first day we bought it. The only thing I've had to do was replace the grills and I had to get a new cover. We're moving in the spring to a ranch style home and I will most likely leave it behind since the smaller version Spirit E-210 with the gas line caught my eye awhile ago when I was at Ace hardware. At our age I'm sure this will be our last Weber grill but we can say we've had nothing but good experiences with them.
