For those of you that remember I posted a couple of weeks ago about buying a Colt Army Special. Many of you told me to hold out for a nicer Official Police. Well I lucked out on one. I walked in to my dealer and he was appraising an Official Police with a six inch heavy barrel. The only flaw on the entire gun is the grip backstrap. It is gray now from years of being carried in a security guards holster. Yes it came with a factory letter.

I'd like to see some photos of your great new revolver as well. The factory letter lends a wartime interest to the grand old gun.

I have an Army Special and an Official Police. Don't see how the Official Police is any nicer than the Army Special. Only difference is the Official Police has a more clearly defined square notch rear sight. Both revolver models are very nice to shoot.

Well gentlemen I don't have a camera, But I really do want to post pictures of this gun. I will have to get my friends to take some pictures of it this weekend. So please be patient.
Also this gun locks up tighter than a bank vault. When I saw it it was love at first sight. I have been looking for a six inch .38 special for a while because I can see the sights so much better. Also .38 special is my favorite round because it is so versatle. Also this gun being in almost brand new condition I see many years of enjoyment.

Bring us pictures but it sounds like you have great luck also.

Congratulations on a fine piece of hardware.

I carried a 6" OP my last year in uniform because it was lighter than my M28 and we were restricted to .38 SPL +P ammo. Got me out of a couple of tight places, but don't try drawing it from a high-rise holster in a seated position unless you are VERY long in the body.

I have some questions for you gentlemen about this shooter. I do know that Colts can go out of time easier than a Smith, but how does this gun compare to say the pythons? Most Pythons I have encountered have a much nicer action than the OP, and it is my belief that this made them more prone to timing issues. Please if anybody with more knowledge than I can chime in I would appreciate it. Also what is the general strength of the firing pins on this gun? I also don't see any problems shooting any modern ammo out of this gun. What say you? Also any other pertinent information you gentlemen believe I should know would be appreciated.
