Have been wanting one of these for quite some time and finally scratched that itch this afternoon.

Now need to get to the range and begin the hunt for some appropriate leather.

Will it replace my 640-1 Pro for EDC? Time will tell…

Hey, I see you got the manual safety. Me, too.

I made the same move, just about a year ago, after reading on the forum the reports of many happy P365 owners here who'd made the move from revolver carry. I got the P365X, and switched to a Wilson Combat grip module which I find more ergonomic for my hands.

About a month ago, switched out the factory sights for XS Big Dot:

I am a very happy camper. Took a few range sessions for me to acclimate to a semi from a revolver. Initially I resisted the two thumbs forward semi grip, but now find it comfortable.

I also installed the MagGuts springs in my two 12 round mags to convert them to 14, so 14 + 1. Over quite a few range sessions now, no problems feeding whatsoever. Bought a ten rounder for trips into neighboring Washington which has a reduced capacity mag limit.

It's a terrific gun. Couldn't be happier with it. You'll love it, like the rest of us, I am sure.

(I wound up selling my 640-1, but am hanging on to my Colt DS.)

Whew, I was worried you were going to say Glock😝
The little Sigs are fun and accurate and I think there's a lot of us that have them, whether they'll admit it or not. I picked one up about a year ago and really enjoy it. Mine's pretty ammo tolerant as well. I loaded up 1000 rounds of some low power 9mm for my daughter a couple of years ago so she could have some soft shooting fodder for her M&P. 124 grain at around 900 fps. Turns out it was a little too underpowered to operate the M&P consistently, so it just sat until I tried it out in the P365. The little Sig eats it like candy. Then I got a 1/2x28 piston for my Rugged Obsidian and tried it out with the 365 and the 9mm I loaded. What fun that was! A little front end heavy, but a blast to shoot!

I've never seen one up close but, now that I have, I'm glad to see the "normal" trigger and not a safety trigger. My similar gun is a Walther CCP and if I didn't have two I'd consider that SIG. The CCP is excellent. It's bigger brother is CZ 75 Compact. All appear similar.

The CZ is sufficiently bigger that I'm not fond of carrying it as I am the little Walther.

SIG. CZ. Walther. S&W 3rd Gen. They'll all do to ride the river with.

But I still carry a J frame more than any other gun!!! :D

I bought mine about 6 years ago (standard model with curved trigger and has a manual safety) after Sig quickly worked out the kinks. I now have over 8,000 rounds through it and do not remember ever having a failure or jam. As Sig suggests, I replaced the springs and striker assembly after 5,000 rounds just to err on the side of caution. The little P365 has been my EDC for over 5 years now. My EDC carry ammo is Federal, standard velocity, 124 grain HST.

I carry it half the time in a Kramer Horsehide Belt Scabbard and use Kramer's Horsehide belt and magazine pouch too. The other half of the time it rides in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.

It took a lot to convince me to retire my trusted M60-7 Chief's Spl. for EDC but after shooting a few hundred rounds through a friends P365 I was sold and there was no going back!

The standard P365 grip shape fits my smallish hand just great. It's like there's no gaps or free space so my hand makes contact everywhere to completely distribute the recoil. I also love the safety and I installed a straight trigger, which feels much better than the standard curved one. And I installed the Magguts +2 kits in the magazines for 25 rounds carried and easier loading.

I'm thinking of getting a second one (gotta have a spare, right?) and am considering one with provisions for a dot sight. Anyone have any input on that?

I have posted here many times why I do not put any optical sights on a EDC - you can do a search on the Forum if interested in all the reasons. That said, I feel bulking up and adding weight to an EDC pistol that would most likely be used (if ever) at a very close distance is not a good idea. Special holsters, issues with optics, batteries, etc. not to mention most up close and personal SD shooting are done by pointing, not aiming. In general, I see no need or real purpose of an optical sight on an EDC.

I bought a 365 W/ safety about 5 years ago and liked it so much I bought the big brother 365XL and installed a Holosun 507 circle dot sight and it has become one of my favorite handguns right behind my M&P 4" 10mm. The Holosun makes long shots a breeze, especially with a tree, truck hood, or improvised rest.

I wouldn't say that you "drank the koolaid" as that implies you did something blindly. Keep in mind that phrase stems from the Jim Jones incident.

What you did was make a fine choice in a great shooting defensive sidearm.

I have three, two of which have Holusun optics on top.

Great shooters and adding the Holusun was the best choice I ever made. Of course you also have to be able to see/use the standard sights but the quick acquisition of the green/red dot coupled with a quality draw stroke can't be beat.

I think you will enjoy your choice.

Very good choice MetalMan. I think the Sig P365 is an excellent carry gun. Magazines, 10 or 12 round , just take your pick. I bet you will like your P365

I bought my Sig P365 in 2018 and installed the Apex straight trigger after about a year of use. The factory trigger was excellent also. Accuracy is good for such a small pistol. Shown with a Moore Leather OWB holster. I have IWB holster (Sig Kydex) for this pistol also. I use Talon Gun Grip (rubber) on all my composite guns.

As a diehard revolver shooter, I have replaced my 640 pro with a P365X. Never thought I'd see the day! I wanted a semi to carry on my motorcycle so if I skidded down the road I would have something flat that wouldn't be as apt to bite into my ribs as a revolver, now it's all I carry.
