Been wanting one for a while, and pulled the proverbial trigger last night. It's winging it's way to me now.

Can't wait til it gets here and takes its place next to my 39-2 and 4566.

Are older S&W semi-autos addicting? Sure seems so.

Well, I had my eye on a 3913, but I put the money into a LNIB 4506.
Next time.

Addicted,
Richard

You will love it. Now you need to get a 6906/04, they almost hold as nice as my 639s. Then you have the 59xx ----no no I'm not addicted

Friday I popped the cap on my first ever 9mm, a 3913 tactical. Bought it because I so love my 4567 and wanted the same feel in a compact. I think this little gun achieves that. Now to find some reasonable ammo.

There's been talk of getting some kind of support group
together, but I don't think anyone has moved on that yet.
There are enough 3rd Genaddicts on this site to make it
worth while. Including myself, of course.

Nice Tactical, by the way!

Add me to the list. I just told a fellow forum member I'd take his early 3913 that he offered for sale to me. I've had a couple of these, and a 3953 as well, but I'm going to try not to let this one go. Gotta find some nice left handed leather now!

Nice Skunkhome, that one is at the top of my wanted list... 3913TSW with silver slide release and silver decocker, no luggage rack. :D

You will love your new 3913. Be sure to post some pics of your new toy when she gets here. Best of Luck.

Won't work. We'll start out talking about our addiction. Then we'll start sharing pictures. Then we'll all feel bad about the ones we don't have and we'll go out and buy more.

Which isn't really a bad thing, is it?

Welcome to the club!!! Ur gonna love it! I have shot alot of different types of guns, But by far,My all time favorite is my 3913!!

I have the 3913, 3914 and the 3953. Needless to say, when I exercize them, together with a 39-2, people with "plastic guns" are a little uncertain as to what they are. When shown them, there is usually "i did not know that these existed!!" Dave_n

Dang, it looks like all of you like the 3913!!

I have had a 39-2 for 35 years and it is the best....

After reading all the accolades about the 3913 I bought one last year. I only owned it for a month or so and took it to a local gun show and traded it for a 19-2. The 3913 didn't feel right in my hand and I couldn't hit anything. My son tried it and didn't like it either!

I bought it for my daughter and then found out she wanted a revolver!! Go figure.

You all enjoy!!!!!!!

Vividia - Pics or it didn't happen :D j/k.. Congratulations on your purchase.

Skunkhome - Very nice pre-rail TSW you got there and good shooting.

Woo hoo picked it up today and snapped a quickie phone photo so here she is. Appears to be in pristine condition.

Whoever she had it musta carried it - barren when i gave the barrel the sniff test ( to see if it was cleaned and oiled after last firing) - it smelled like fabric softener LOL

Are all these similar to the 3913?

39-2
19-2
4567
6906/04
639
59xx
4506
4566

All these numbers are confusing?

39-2 is larger but similar to the 3913, and an earlier generation - have one - nickel it's PRETTY

19-2 nope not similar at all, kinda roundish in the middle - have a 19-4

4566 lots bigger LOL its .45 auto - have one

Others also self explanatory but don't have any of them.....yet

Currently on the prowl for a 5906.....

I shoot indoor at Bass Pro and they get all these guys come in with their plastics and girlfriend in tow. Set a full silhouette target with orange bull at 3 yards and spray 2-3 hundred rounds of 9mm or 40 S&W all over and off the paper like they were playing with their PS3 or Xbox. They look over and down their noses at my old school single column 3rd gen and my K frame revolver then I hear them snickering when I pull out my "10M International Air Pistol targets" and run them out to ten yards. Then when my hammer falls and the first round is in the black, I get the strangest double takes and utterances .
They think I am some sort of gun guru that I'm able to make those antique guns shoot when in actuality I am a pretty poor pistol shot.

The truth is these guys just don't have any discipline and are just burning up tons of hard to find ammo. The plastic guns are fine and I can shoot some about as well as my own pistols but they are just not my cup of tea maybe because they are so ubiquitous nowadays.

I hear you on the polymers. Never really my cup of tea. I got interested when a friend let me try his Glock 21 in 45. I shot well with it. I have a G19, but actually prefer the older version without finger grooves.

I was turned off long ago from S&W autos, because the 659 I tried had a horrendous trigger. I was barely 21 and at the time, I didn't even know what a 1911 was!

Now that my wife is shooting, we each tried my brother's Shield. Although he/I are close in age, I have been shooting handguns for much longer and they were always steel frames. I really liked his full size M&P in 40 and now I have a Shield to try out for myself.

During my research of the Shield, I found the 3913 and am intrigued. It's not as small as the Shield, but I carry a 4" 1911 without much issue. My other carry is an all steel Makarov, so the Shield fills a spot as a Compact for me. Still, I'll see if I can find a 3913 to play with...though they don't look cheap.

I got my 6906, love it. Couldn't find 3913 but found a cs9, love it too. And I got a 469 that looks new, but found out it is a recall in 1987, will s&w still take care of it?

Your gonna luv it. IMHO it's a great carry gun, It won't replace the model 39, however, it might be a great backup carry in a Kramer T-shirt. They also shoot nice and accurate with a 115gr. LSWC over 4.0 bullseye.

Congrats on your 3913! :)

Finest single stack carry 9 to come out of S&W. Only Sigs 239 comes close, IMO of course.

And another great thing about the 3913 is that the "break in" period ends when you remove it from its case! No expensive after market Apex action parts or triggers to buy. No aftermarket Storm lake or Bar-Sto barrels needed. Mine still has its original white dots in its sights from 1991!!

Just load and shoot and repeat. The 3913 is one of the last semi autos made by S&W that not only were 100% in reliability and accuracy, but had great triggers and looked good too! You really got something for your money with the 3913.......and all the other 3rd gen pistols for that matter. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

I'm not addicted. Seriously, I can quit whenever I feel like it.

I mean the last S&W semi auto I bought was....oh...well that's not the point.
