Well, the official 7.62 panic buying has reared its head here.

With the current political situation concerning Russia, Ukraine, USA, etc, and if you are a AK and or Mosin Nagant shooter, why wouldn`t you stock up on ammo now?
If there aren`t sanctions or "excecutive orders" that stop the import of ammo, are you gonna be bummed that you have a case or two of extra ammo sitting around?
Sounds like more shooting fun to me....

My thoughts exactly. Sanctions or not I'm still going to shoot it. Might as well order an extra case or two just in case something bad happens. Tis better to have and not need then to need and not have.

I dunno? looks like people in my area want any excuse to scalp others. One thing I will say, I dont know how many gun shops here are getting others to stand in line to buy for them--such as the Survivalist Store on Corona, ill never spend a penny in his store Im satisfied buying all my guns at the gun shows. I figured another more famed shop whose name ill not post but are located on Staples--they also pay retirees to stand in line to get what is allowed, they will never see a penny from me either.

Sounds to me like a business owner going to extremes to ensure his customers have product. I don't see a problem here. After all he is in the same boat as the rest of us. He can't get ammo either but to ensure his customers can purchase ammo he has taken extreme measures to acquire it. You should thank him for going the extra mile for his customers , not condemn him

Well maam, lets just say we can agree to disagree with that store owners business practices. To me its the exact same thing that-with a Hurricane approaching--that some people deem it necessary to go out and buy all the bottled water, batteries and flashlights then can, then they go scalp them in the parking lot for profit. To me, that is an example of a bottom feeder. I saw that happen at WM back in 99-when we had a hurricane approaching and expected landfall several hours later.

BTW, I did find a nice flashlight that someone hid--and had not had time to come back and get-or forgot where it was? as well as a large pack of Duracell batteries hidden with it. That and one case of water-was all I was wanting. Said water all bought up--being scalped in the parking lot. Next morning, I topped off the gas in my car--saw pallets full of Dasani water-3 case limit-was asked if I wanted 3? said no--just one.

Well, bye.

With all due respect-- I am gonna buy, or not buy, when I want whether anyone else agrees or disagrees. There is a very high probability that no one here will know when I do or don't. Talk about flogging a dead horse to death! Just saying.

I never did like that steel case commie ammo.

It's just litter. They should ban it for that reason alone.

At least people pick up the brass.

I feel the same way about steel ammo and don't use it in my good guns but in my AK74 or Mosin Nagant they are just fine.

My AK's are the only ones that ever see steel case. Simple fact, they just dont make an AR that dependable. :D

I bought my case of 7.62X39, no qualms just totally disposable ammo, hate chasing brass from the AK. I do have concerns about powder and bullets, seems like everybody is stocking up.

Just got a e-mail from Target Sports . A 1000 round case for $250.00 shipped . And yes in stock.

I've got a case of 7.62x54R coming today. Always nice when the Brown truck drops of goodies at the house.

President just announced that more people have been added to the sanctions list plus a bank. He also said the next group of sanctions will be targeted at certain economic sectors of the Russian economy.

The shortage isn't here yet, at least not apparent on internet sites. Local stock will be the first to disappear. Actually it is already gone in some areas as OP stated.

If you own an eastern bloc rifle or pistol one would be wise to either sell it, stock up on some cheap ammo, or buy dies and brass now.

This adm. won't let a good crises go to waste and congress is likely to support legislation that bans weapons and ammo from Russia.

There is an article in the NY Times that hints that there will be forthcoming sanctions on Arms companies in Russia. So given this I guess its decision time for us who shoot the cheap Russian surplus ammo. Buy or sit it out.

Hope there are a number of 22 LR ammo hoarders and gougers that change their attention to the "Russian calibers". Quite likely 22 LR wil start showing up on shelves that haven't seen them for awhile...
