Um......

...say WHAT???????

Never mind. Missus Smiff just explained it to me.

I hope the spaghetti strings elsewhere, maybe back around the Florida keys and all the way to the north Atlantic. Maybe hit some icebergs and polar pack ice.

We already had one this year so it's somebody else's turn. At least it's not a big one...but I think you'll get some rain.

If it stays on the same tract you'll get to see the cloudless sky with very little wind as the eye passes over. You will be able to go outside with your Scotch in hand and your Bermuda shorts for a few minutes and survey your damage and then the wind will change to the opposite direction and it will start up again. I know this because I saw this during Camille. If it stays the same we will be in the NE Quadrant and possibly entertained by tornadoes. Hopefully it will fizzle out some. The good news is, Rouse's has their 13 OZ. bags of Coffee and Chicory on sale for $2.99 (I've tried to contact you about this) if all of their glass isn't blown out and their computers still work. Maybe you can get there tomorrow before it gets bad. I put ten of them in the freezer Friday. My prediction: I've noticed that most Gulf Hurricanes do what I call the the "Hurricane Crawl". It seems that as the storm hits land the hurricane is dragged eastward as the counter clockwise storm seems to "drag" Eastward as it hits land. This seems to move the eye 30 to 50 miles East. I wonder why the weather gurus never seem to notice this. We'll see what this one does. I've got four chainsaws and charge bourbon, gas, and a place to crash (I know you have emergency food) for my services....if my place isn't too messed up. Good luck!

Not worried about anything except a storm surge. Can't abide a storm surge.
Bought a handle of Dewars and a six pak of vienna sausage so I'm good with provisions.
Got 50 pounds of ice for the freezer and a tank of gas for the generator to keep freezer and ice box going-now getting ready to go move the boat, then come back and type up a court closure order and then time to hunker down.
This ain't this fat boy's first rodeo!!;)

Stay safe amigo I got a couple of extra chains as well as some 50:1 pre mix for the saw as well. I suspect we will be without power for a couple of days but the real threat will be the storm surge, not at home but down the road in Franklin where my office is. If it gets flooded I'm screwed as flood insurance is unaffordable so I'm kinda hoping that any damage is wind related. Oh and I DID stock up on that coffee and chicory at the New Iberia Rouses! ;)

Be safe. Cat 1 will launch your K-Mart green plastic Adirondack chairs over to Mississippi. It'll be our turn before long. Just rolled the empty trash bin back from the road, standing water from yesterday over the top of my tennys. It's "just water" even if it comes in Biblical amounts. Joe

Looks like y'all are getting a good storm before the storm.

Something odd going on outside my window. I don't know if it is because of the normal migration or if the hummingbirds are loading up to weather the oncoming storm, but my hummingbird feeders outside my window are being swarmed with hummingbirds. I guessing there is around 20 of them out there around the feeders and waiting in nearby trees for a turn. That's by far the most I've seen this year. I'm also seeing some nocturnal animals wandering around back behind my house. Maybe they know something we don't.
