Went to the lake.....it was depressing

People in other states are littering slobs also. I worked in a campground one summer and a large part of my job was picking up litter. I HATE smokers who flip their butts OVER the campfire and into the grass. I HATE people who burn trash in their fire pits. I HATE people who throw leftover food into the grass next to their campsite.

I won't even mention cleaning the bath houses, except to report that women leave worse messes than men. Those little boxes on the stall walls hold waxed bags for sanitary pads -- they're not there to put your used Depends in . . . .

It's pretty easy to tell when you're entering many AZ Indian reservations, whether or not there's any signage marking the boundary, as the amount of shattered beer, wine, and booze bottles increases exponentially. Many reservation roadsides are glittering, miles-long trash heaps. The famous anti-pollution TV ad featuring the teary-eyed Indian was wishful, wistful fancy. If there's any cultural predisposition to literally trashy behavior, I don't think any particular ethnic group has a corner on it...

Yes, I saw this in some places too. In Monument Valley, when I pulled over and stopped, I walked over to the barbwire fence and on the other side there were piles of beer bottles for long stretches. Driving down the road you wouldn't pat attention to it or see it. Kinda blended in with the red sand, but it was there, not in all places , but it was ugly.
