I know this may not be the place to post this, but I just preffer to do so. My cousin and I went to range on a whim . I praticed with my 442 and was eager to try his hk usp compact 40 cal. It's a accurate gun ! Very nice. It was dirty and jammed sevaral times with reloads. But I was impressed with it. However , getting to the best part of this story is I brought my Smith and wesson model 6906 , that I bought back in 1989 and carry it on ocassion. It may not shoot a two inch circle, or be as light as other guns , or have a lot of hype to it. But this gun will put lead down range all day long with no drama. Clean, dirty, whatever. When the smoke cleared . Had a smile on my face from ear to ear and plenty on holes in the target area. That's my two cents.

I am glad to hear the 6906 functioned well for you and that you have confidence in it... as well as ability.

I am confused by this statement:

It was dirty and jammed sevaral times with reloads. But I was impressed with it.

My confusion lies in your last sentence. After all, it failed, didn't it? What's to be impressed by?

I never tried the Compact, but I did try a full size USP with a light 180 gr. RNFP cast bullet handload. My Glock 21 would feed it but not cycle this load due to the light powder charge and an expensive Les Baer Concept VI would not feed it at all but would cycle properly with those dropped into the chamber. The USP managed it without any problems at all.

I agree that you should never be impressed by something that does not function properly, though there could be more to the story than the gun simply being dirty.

I'm impressed with hk , the feel of the gun and how accurate it was . It's a nice looking gun too. The jamming was a turn off. Considering all things... I can understand the importanance of a clean weapon with good ammo. My 6906 has had about a gazillion rounds put thur it with all types of reloads to factory ammunition. She's not the prettest one at the dance, but she will do. LOL. Thats my two cents.
