beautiful looking revolver. Being it’s a shooter have you found any ammo that the gun performs best with? I’m looking at a Model 19 Nickel Snub nose!

I've got a few M19's, nice revolvers! Keep the Magnum's to a minimum and only use 158 grains when you do shoot mag's and your revolver will thank you.

I thought ammo was way too expensive when I bought that revolver in 1981. It was around $20 a box then. I bought one box of ammo and a reloading press at the same gun show that I purchased the revolver from. I have not bought any ammo since. Current batch has Federal cases with 158 grain Hornady bullets (SJHP) with Accurate #5 powder and W-W primers.

You get to shoot a whole lot more for less money if you reload.

I can’t shoot an iron sighted handgun worth a hoot with glasses.

19, I would like to encourage you to get a better eye doctor. Im soon to turn 64 and I shoot as well as ever because I have “bifocal “ contacts. My left, dominant eye is for distance. My right eye is for up close. If you wonder how that can possibly work?, so did I. Your brain will adjust. I had to try 2 or 3 different lenses for my right eye until I got the one that works for me.

You can still do what you used to. It’s just going to take a good set of contacts to do it. I’m right handed and left eye dominate. What a mess, right? I put 5, 158s going 1170 fps out of my 3 inch tuned Python under 2 inches at 25 yards, from a rest. I’m nothing special. I’ll bet you could do that too if you could see better.

Oh, and cool gun by the way. I wish I had one.

The 6in 19 is what turned me into a revolver fan. Points and shoots better than anything else for me.
