Well I went to a local gunshow Friday afternoon. It was the worst I have ever been to. There was one ammo dealer there and he was out of stuff in minutes. I went looking for reloading components. I found 2 boxes of Winchester large pistol primers. $45.00 for 1000. CRAZY! No powder no bullets no brass. It was pathetic. I did see a few AR rifles. Very few S&W revolvers at all. It was a waste of $5.00.

Be happy it was only $5! Here in Phoenix the gun shows are much larger. However, it is $14 entry, $10 parking and the prices inside are inflated. Most dealers act as though you owe them a sale. I quit going several years ago, it was never worth the cost and hassle.

I have been to a lot of shows over the years including a bunch when I lived in Phoenix. Actually I had found quite a few great buys out there, but that was nearly 10 years ago. It may very well have changed. Honestly this was the worst show I have been to in 25 years.

Come to a show in Nashville.....it'll make you appreciate yours!

$10 admission, $5 parking, and still nothing but overpriced junque.

The wife and I went to a much anticipated and advertised gunshow last year. Parking was $5.00 at the gate (fairgrounds) We pay and get parked walk a long distance to the arena where there was to be 200+ tables. There was a line but not too long, but everyone that seemed to be coming out had nothing in their hands, from making a purchase. I spot a person I knew coming out and hollered to him. He came over and said do not waste your time or money. There is only one table setup, in the back area, and all they have is T shirts. Thats it. Not a gun or related item anywhere. I walked up top the front of the line and folks were still handing over their $12.00 admission fee to see a table full of T shirts. You entered in one door on the front, but exited through the side doorways. Got back in our truck and went. Demanded my $5.00 parking fee back, and eventually got it. All the Gun Shows that are held at ther Shrinners Temple have been ok, so far. There is another at the Fairgrounds arena on the 20/21 of this month. No one ever figured out where the other 199+ other dealers were at that weekend.

Think you got the op beat on his own post! :)

Yea that is worse than mine.

I was at one yesterday. Ive never seem paid parking in SE Pa and the entrance fee is $8 but that's where the savings end. Everything was available but at Bravo Sierra prices. Mosin Nagants @ $200  5.45 ammo @ $300/tin! $600/crate :eek:. No 9nm cheaper then $24. I never thought id see the day that surplus commercial ammo such as 303 and 8mm is cheaper then the run of mill 9mm range ammo. But, to be fair, there were guys selling firearms at normal prices too. Colt 6940 $1500, Colt 6920 $1100, "high cap" mags OEM $30 (glock, MP, Sig....)

I just wished that there was a gun show on Firday so I could go while most people are working

It started at 4:00 Friday afternoon. There was a line to get in because there were tons of radio adds stating there was going to be an ammo dealer. He got cleaned out in minutes.

Big Reno Show at the old Hilton in Reno this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In my opinion Friday is the better day, though we do usually hit it again on Saturday.

My record is FIVE very decent Smith revolvers on a weekend. Big show, lots of varied items, reasonable local laws, etc. And quite a few attendees walking around with items to sell.

I once bought a very nice BHP in the parking lot for $450.

I know the lousy shows can try ones patience....but unless you PLAY you can't WIN. I have snagged quite a few good items in parking lots, the line waiting to get in, etc.

Ten years back my M-58 was $350 from a guy too broke to pay the $5 to get into the Bozeman Winter show.

A bad gunshow is preferable to some good other things in my opinion.

Perhaps, but I refuse to go to a show now and stand in line for 1 to 2 hours just to get in. The last show I was at was the IX Center OGCA Show last October. Have no intentions of going to shows again until the madness stops.

Until yesterday, I had not been to a gun show for about 4 or 5 months. I have been tempted to attend one of the big Crossroads shows in Phoenix since the frenzy began, but chickened out. Reading some of the after action reports from folks who have attended the post-frenzy Phoenix Crossroads shows, I know I did the right thing. Went to the show yesterday in Prescott Valley. Crowded, but still enjoyed it. Was able to buy some ammo I wanted at high, but not Crazy prices. Visted a gunshop in Prescott afterwards that had a good stock of guns, reloading supplies, powder, primers, jacketed and cast bullets, etc. Still had ammo, not near as much as pre-frenzy, but still nice to see it was available. Nothing cheap ( primers $42.95 a thousand, and lots of them ), but still not near the crazy prices I've seen on the internet, or at Cheaper than Dirt, etc...

I'm still trying to get past somebody complaining about the $5 admission. They are all $12-14 here and some places want $3 on top of that.

The primers don't sound bad

The price on the primers isn't a gouge price, but the rest of it bites pretty good.

Aloha,

I just go to talk story with people I don't normally see if it weren't for

gun shows.

I also try to help the club I belong to by holding down a chair.....
