Ever since I got here OK has been good to me. Now, since I was looking for a new belt buckle I thought why not something that represents OK. I came across this buckle.

Very heavy, solid brass. Says something about a registered collection and has a serial number. Why not?! I like it. But I'm a little concerned, not sure if it holds up with gun, mags and stuff.

So I started looking for "replacement" buckles like this #BJ-13B ~ RIO BRAVO one;

Western Belt Buckles, Historic Buckles, Jewelry | Old West Leather, Buckles, Cowboy Holsters, Custom Western Belts

Like it very much and my Jason Winnie belts are 9x out of ten 1.75" width instead of 1.5".

I also like the idea of "Ranger belts" and in particular love the Vogt "The Lawman" buckle set.

The Lawman - 3/4 inch - Vogt Western Buckle Sets - Belt Buckles

But the price, holy Mackerel, not sure what kinda Lawman buys stuff like that. Not this one...

If you wear "jewelry" like this what brands/silversmith's can you recommend?

Thank y'all, appreciate any input :)

I guess guys differ on belts. Nothing lasts forever and I'm planning on dying sooner or later. I just recently changed belts to one that's brand new but unworn for maybe 10 years. My wife is offended because Its on the last hole, and has been since I retired 7 years ago. So she bought me a longer one. Two really, the first one is ugly and I gave it to my son. Besides, Bianchi has an inaccurate tape measure and the 38" she bought is shorter than the 36" I was wearing. So she bought me a 42". Not because I think I need it, but she doesn't want me to be on the last hole. Go figure. But my ace in the hole is my S&W belt buckle made of sterling. I think it will add a couple of inches to the rig.

Its my honest assessment that this belt will last me till I croak. So the silver buckle I bought 6 or 7 years ago for $50 should be good.

I wear these to gun shows. They're not precious metals: the System Mauser is bronze and the Colt 45 is pot metal. I've had people try to buy the System Mauser off my belt. I tell them NO, I need something to hold up my trousers, anyway my wife gave it to me over 30 years ago.

No big ole belt buckles for me. I have a lot of money in my Martin guitar and I don't want to gouge the back with a buckle. :-)

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I've worn these Garcia three piece buckle set for quite a spell, way before the turn of the century.

They look all nice, thanks for sharing. You really have the traditional setup with a pants- and a gun belt. I'd rather have just a pants belt with holster and pouches.

I'll check ebay and see what I can find.
