We've been invaded!

Here in north Mississippi we've had 4 or 5 hanging out at our feeders throughout the summer, but since mid August that number is up around 30 or so. We put out a couple of extra feeders for them.

I too live in Arizona and there are lots of humming birds here. We put out humming bird feeders but when the spillage drew ants, the wife had me take it down.

However, we still feed the birds. We have a natural area behind our back fence and I throw wild bird seeds to feed the dove and quail. We also attract several other species of birds. But my favorite are the Gambel's quail. And they've allowed me to take a few pictures of them.

And with all the avian diners, we sometimes attract some grumpy critters as well.

And as well, we get to see numerous other desert species of both birds and mammals.

For many years I've hunted upland birds. The upland birds for years have fed me. Now I feed them.

God bless,
John T.
