Guys,

we have a bird problem and we need advice. We are renting a house and since a few weeks we have birds in our attic. I discovered a broken outside vent what the birds used to get inside, right under the roof. I have no way to reach them from the inside. Today a contractor was here and put a metal vent on top of it to cover up the broken one. Now we have 2 adult birdies flying around, with food in their mouth trying to get inside to feed their babies.

I thought the contractor is getting those birds out before he puts the vent on. I could have done that...

Birds can carry diseases and we are worried b/c of the kids. That's why I'm not in favor of letting those baby birdies die in our attic.

What would you do?

There probably dead by now so problem almost over. Next time throw a snake up there they will take care of your problem, don't ask how I know. He was a good ol' 6 footer. He left after his dinner was over and after he left his shed skin.

i've been meaning for years.....

I've been meaning for years to put a screen on my chimney because every year we get swifts. Then I say "nah', they don't do anything but make a little racket sometimes.

Well, first I thought about this

but since we are renting I don't wanna cause any damage to the house. Then I thought about this

and I said "nah!" too loud and dangerous.

So I just let them be under the roof until they are old/strong enough to fly. Just worried about diseases and poop...

I have a bad bird problem every year. Every year around this time I get swallows trying to build a nest under my front door. I don't have a problem with birds building a nest, just not there. I get daily deliveries from UPS and these crazy birds attack me and anyone that comes close. They swoop and dive bomb like crazy.

So every year now I have to chase them, and stop them building the nest. This year after they stop, I'm going to place nails up there.
