What 357 or 38 S&W revolver would you carry for a pocket gun concealed?

Ruger LCR short barrel in .38 if you don't mind a little extra recoil, even with standard .38 Special loads.
Get the .357 version that weighs 4 ounces or so more than the .38 Special version and shoot .38's in it. The slight addition in weight dampens the recoil better.
If the rubber grips are a little too fat for you, take a belt sander to them and shape them to your liking. Works great.

Old school .38 special

If you don't mind the additional weight, which is what makes these a joy to shoot and allows you to do more so than with a snappy air weight "J" frame or .357 I would go with one of these options. You will at least enjoy shooting these and will do so more than with the others. Models 10,15,64. I'm sure one of these will make you a proud EDC.

Got this 642-1 in my pocket now.

I'm not big on airweights so usually my model 36 or 60.

Me too....

Pocket carry my Model 60 in a Mika Pocket Holster or IWB in a Milt Sparks VMII (built for my 3” Model 60 but works just fine with a 2”)

Best choice

I like my 340 M&P for pocket carry.

I think the S&W M&P 340 is one of the BEST choices for pocket carry. I put the S&W Crimson Trace grips on mine. It's ALWAYS in my pocket. Home carry and as my back up gun. I only carry with 38 Special +P. I like the Buffalo Bore hardcast full wadcutters.

I think the S&W 642 is a excellent second choice. The M&P 340 has the big dot sight so I give it the edge over the 642.

My wife has a older ported 642 with Crimson Trace grips from the performance center in her pocket all the time. Carries with the same Buffalo Bore wadcutters.

My unobtanium airlite PD 340. It melts in your pocket and you forget it's there. It's like a 12ga with 3" magnums when it goes off... She might draw blood on both ends, but it will get the job done. She's NOT a range toy.

The notation, "this is not a range toy" is about the best summation I have read concerning this gun. Brutal, short, and unforgettable is how I might describe shooting 357s in this revolver. Nevertheless, it is feather light in the pocket and is probably a pretty good vehicle for +P.

For me J frames are a bit big for front pockets when sitting (not impossible). NO I don't wear skinny jeans. :)

I'm in the same boat. For jeans I use a Ruger LCP in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster.

When I am able to pocket carry a j frame, it's either a 642-1 or a 360J that I bobbed the hammer on. I prefer stainless, but the 360J has a wider rear sight opening and I can see the sights better.

I have a 442 in my off hand pocket at all times. Sometimes with Uncle Mikes Boot Grips, sometimes larger grips in pants with roomy pockets. Another Snub is in the waist or in a jacket pocket. That depends what I have on and wear I’m going. Most days it’s Two 442s. This is what I pick from.

I carried a J frame for 13 years but that was before lite and skinnier dependable pistols were lacking !! Since I picked up a kahr cw9 back some 15 years ago there will be NO more j frames for CC . I upgraded to a tp40 a couple years later . NO short barrel 357mag offers that kind of velocity or energy compared to a good 1400fps + 135gr or 1300fps + 155 gr 40sw . Oh , and no more pocket carry but I still have a kahr cm9 next to my keyboard . My snubby in the safe .

Still shoot and hunt with some DW revolvers .
