So I decided to shoot in a tournament this fall, and I decided to use my Mod 19. The first night was last Wed and I was the only one to shoot a wheelgun. The only two division are centerfire and rimfire. So far (one night of shooting) and i am in the middle of the pack. I learned one thing for sure though............I gotta get a lot faster with the speedloaders.

Way to go RJ! Yeah your manual dexterity goes to crap under match pressure thats for sure. Load up some clearly marked dummy rounds and practice your reloads, being very carefull to make sure you have the dummy rounds! I used to shoot revolver in IPSC just for grins and found that lots of practice with the speed loaders pay's off.

Congratulations on being the only one to shoot a wheelgun. The diehard revolver fold needs all the members it can get!

:) What kind of tournament were you shooting? Sounds
like your good enough with the model 19 to beat half of
the competitors. Don

I am not really sure what kind of league it is. We shoot 8 targets a night and each target get 12 rounds. The only thing that kinda levels the field is that you can only load 6 rounds at a time, so everyone has to reload once.
Each target is different. It might be all 12 rounds at 50' in 30 seconds, or 6 at 20 feet and 6 at 50 feet, or all 12 weak hand in 40 seconds, or all 12 in 15 seconds. That last one was tough, ended up only squeezing out 10 rounds on that one.

I picked up some of the weighted snap caps to practice with. I got a ways to go on with the speedloaders. They arent quite living up to their name, not a lot of speed in my reloading. But man... it sure is fun!

Where in Oregon are you shooting?
