Weather fine, drove a couple of hours to meet up with a friend but it was well worth it. My main object was to sight in my two ARS. Got my red dot site shooting out bullseyes at 25 yards with a few tweaks. The peep sight was close but could use one more session.

Now the really fun part. My friend brought his new 1938 Luger and we put a few mags through it. It came with an original holster and only has a tiny bit of blue worn on the muzzle. He blamed me for 'making' him buy it and I didn't object.

He also picked up a Spanish Mauser and I found some ammo for it because he blamed me for making him buy it. It was a blast, though.

He'd also picked up a Glock and I shot it. I DIDN'T LIKE IT. It hurt my hand and felt 'big'.

A real highlight was shooting his .30 carbine. I've always wanted one, but surprisingly my wife even liked it and said we should save up for one.:D:D:D

He liked shooting my SKS about as much as I did. I like those a LOT better than AKs.

I'd include some pics but my camera crapped out, but I guarantee it DID happen.:)

What a GREAT DAY!

Not much better than a day of shooting with an old friend!

We have a couple of family get togethers at our home in Michigan every summer and we always try to schedule a trip to the local range while we are there. I always bring my Inland M1 carbine, it is the favorite of the crowd. Everybody loves it, light weight, low recoil and just plain fun.

Since I am the acting master of ceremonies I bring most of the different firearms we shoot and the majority of the ammo. I am always on the look out for reasonably priced carbine ammo to keep the horde supplied.

I don't usually have a problem buying guns on my own. Now, if someone want's to stop by and buy me a gun, lets do it..:)

I also had a great range day yesterday even though I was by myself.

Nobody else was there so I took my time setting up my tarp and targets. It was a bright sunny day in the mid 40's which is about as good as weather gets this time of year in central PA.

I have a pretty good stock of ammo but being mindful of the fact it may be hard to replace I've cut back a lot on how much I shoot. Instead I'm concentrating more on making each shot count. I set my targets at 15 yds for the pistols and shot two mags each through the .45 and 9mm, then shot half a mag through the AR at 100 yds.

My shots were pretty dang accurate by my standards and it was nice to be out in the fresh air doing something I enjoy.

The range is only about 10 miles away so I try to get there once every week. I scout the weather reports for the best day and always look forward to range day.

....when I have 'work' to do. Testings loads, troubleshooting something...
