What about Uberti single action revolvers?

I really have not noticed any from the new ones that I have seen and handled. There are a lot of different finishes that have been offered through the years. Mine are the charcoal blue, case hardened frames. I might be mistaken, but I think that Uberti still makes them as a unit owned by Beretta, the only thing that really changed was ownership. All the Uberti firearms that I own are pre Beretta.

Just checked my records. I bought an Cimarron Arms (Uberti) 1873 (Model P) U.S. Cavalry A.P. Casey 7 1/2" .45 LC w/7th Cavalry markings in 1990.
I didn't realize that I have had it for so long.
It has the charcoal blue cylinder and barrel with color case hardened black powder frame.
While not a Colt or Ruger, it is a pretty good revolver. They do not hold and value as a used revolver.
I don't recall the round count but it has a lot or rounds thru it and it literally wore out.
I had to have it repaired a few years back. Cimarron does not do their own repairs. They gave me contact info for a smith in TX that did their work. While not cheap or fast, he did manage to put my revolver back into working condition.

Check out Heritage Mfg. Made in USA . Good prices. Finishes are just OK but if you apply good paste wax the finishes are close to Colt and equal to Ruger ! Excelnt actions and accurate.

In reply to the question of whether these clones are worth buying, I have one of the "Cavalry Models", and absolutely love it. As others have noted, if you want a stronger revolver for heavier loads - buy a Ruger. If you are buying soley for an investment - buy a Colt. If you want a well built, accurate and reliable revolver to shoot often and not worry about ruining an authentic piece of history - these revolvers are just what you are looking for.
