The 'Bible' says a model 22 in Excellent condition is worth $5500, while an ANIB is worth $7,000.

There is a Model 22 from 1959 that falls in between those two classifications as I see it, but with a starting bid of $5500 and a BIN of $6,000 there were no takers.

Any idea what I might be missing? Tempted but if no one else is, I figure I must be missing something about it.

I don't see one? We can't post links to ongoing auctions, so give me a hint! :D

My no dash 22 sold on GB late last year (penny start) for a good deal less than their asking price.

Nothing missing, just overpriced.

Thanks. I was having trouble finding any sold for prices. Appreciate the feed back.

4 screw model 22. They don't show up to often for sale, especially in that condition. How long will it take you to find another one like that? I picked this one up a few years ago.

One question I have is: What would be the physical differences between a 1917 and a Mod 22? Both are fixed sighted N Frame 45 ACP revolvers.

Other than the # of side plate screws, and possibly some metallurgy differences.

The fact that they are civilian versions of the 1917 puts them purely into the collectors market. Not many were made and if you want a shooter, you can get a 1917 for a lot less money. If only a few collectors lose or gain interest in these guns, the value can swing significantly.

I picked up this one several years ago for about 15% of what a Model 22 in excellent condition would go for. But it's a 5 screw pre-22 and not a very scarce model marked gun.

But I'm sure not complaining.
