Ohio is a regulated state when it comes to alcohol, many pros and cons. This past weekend they had an Irish Cask and Craft event, showcasing many Irish Whiskeys. I picked up, well, probably too many. This was my sampling from this evening (see picture).

This lead me to think, what does everyone else like to drink...?

I'll readily admit my favorite tipple comes from Kilchoman
Distillery in Scotland.

A Marine pal of mine and I attended a bourbon-dinner pairing in
Lander last Friday, and the Horse Soldier bourbon caught my
attention.

Great story, and great whiskey.

In a Garcias Kitchen Red Chili Sauce pint fruit jar.
Garcias is a local Restaurant chain.

My absolute favorite is Glenfarclas 105 cask strength. But it's gotten to where I'm priced out.

In the late 70's I was trying to learn to drink Scotch whiskey, as I discovered all my friends hated it. The little liquor store across the street from my apartment complex had a bunch of the Glenfarclas 105 that wasn't selling.

I tried a bottle. The owner asked me how I liked it and when I didn't respond totally negatively he offered it to me at a huge discount anytime I wanted a bottle. I drank it all. About three cases. Once he ran out the deal was off and the party was over.

After that it was more than most, but not like the $100 a bottle it is now. That's a lot for a consumable for me. I can afford it but I won't buy it.

I never liked Bourbon until I found Dry Fly 101, then Dry Fly Wheat Whiskey (port barrel finish) 86 proof. At 40$ per it better be good. Otherwise I go to Glenfiddich, now 55$, wow CuttySark is only 25$.
