What can you do right now to make your life better?

Give generous Christmas gifts to your everyday service providers. They might not "need" it, but you do in this pandemic to express gratitude to those that make our lives better. I've done it this year and it makes me feel good.

In order to look respectable for Christmas pictures, I went to get my hair cut today. I gave my stylist a roll of Golden Dollars which covered my haircut plus gave her a very nice tip. Then I said, "And here is a little extra Christmas green" and added some $2 bills. I was glad I could do it.

Tis better to give.

Donate to Salvation Army, Give more than 10% at church, Donate several boxes to food banks, Leave Larger tip when eating out, Give to the roadside beggars( can be risky but just a few bucks) as you never know, they truly could be down and out.

Thanks to Big Lots!

Thanks to Big Lots!

Our shopping expedition yesterday went well.
The 50% OFF was well used and will be appreciated by many.

I mentioned the unusually high discount and the manger explained that coporate
had sent the 50% OFF coupons to SPECIFIC ZIP CODES near the recent Kentucky tornados.
He did not mention other states in the same path.

Thanks to Big Lots!

Helping friends makes me better. A young co-worker's car broke down. I put four new tires on it, and then took her to my neighborhood auto repair shop and replaced the alternator and battery to get her going again. She's a single mom, and couldn't afford any of it. I can. Enough said, and she doesn't owe me a dime.

She is baking me some cookies for Christmas, though. :)

Then again it was an awesome thing for you to do. Thank you for taking care of her. BUT what kind of cookies?? Homemade oatmeal, Plain nothing but cookie is awesome.

Stop worrying about anything beyond my control.

If I can accomplish the above, it'll mean I have better control of myself.

You beat me to the punch and I don't worry about that either.
My nephew and I had this discussion this very morning. I told
him at my advancing age I don't worry about things I have no
control over and some of the things I do.

We donate to a couple of charities. Most of the time, it is the local food bank, a couple hundred bucks at a pop. We can afford it.

I need to get a new kidney, and keeping up my physical and mental condition for that is a small but critical step. Sometimes it is not so small.
