Break Free CLP it's all I ever use!
I have been using Ed's Red on all my firearms since I found it on the old FIDO net gun echo back in the 80s. I also use it for cleaning engine parts and in place of penetrating oils. At under $15 per gallon why not?

According to the Hoppe's web site, No. 9 has been around
since 1903. Do you remember when it was introduced, Phil?
Actually, I switched from English Leather to Hoppe's No.9 in the 70's.![]()
I'm not very particular about these things.
Not sure what the point is in posting that photo since you actually have to USE the product, and well, lets be honest here... I've seen the photos of your rifle...![]()

The English Leather reference DEFINITELY dates you! (and me too for knowing that!)

WD40 was developed as a wire dryer. It displaces water on spark plug wires. In time, it will dry to a tacky varnish. Occasionally, I get a break open gun that won't open easily that was lubed with WD40. Break-free is water soluble and not good for rust prevention.
Ezzox and Remoil are both synthetics that are good lubes with Ezzox
very good as a rust prevetative. Break-free can actually alter the DA
timing on revolvers like a D,E, or I frame Colt.
