I would suggest that you go to the nearest range or a gun shop that sells reloading equipment and hang around until you can hitch your wagon to an old mentor. That's how I did it. That old boy is gone now but he put me on the straight and narrow.

Press, dies & shellholders, powder scale and at least one "good" manual. That's the minimum. There are all sorts of bells and whistles you can add as time goes on and you see the need.

As OCDI said,"a single stage press will be best to start".When I mentioned the manual,I'd recommend one with the front section devoted to instructions (not the free powder company manuals).Good ones are Speer,Hornady,Sierra and Lyman.

If you can follow directions and pay attention to detail, the manual will teach you all you need to get started. When I started,I had nothing but a manual and there was no internet nor did I know anyone who reloaded and yet I learned just fine.

Some place that has components available!

(Inside joke, kinda.)

My advice would be to get a .38 special set to start with, a can of Unique, and standard small pistol primers. Make sure you get a die set with a carbide sizer, so you won't have to lubricate the cases. You will regret it if you don't.
