In the past, I had 2 primary carry guns- my M&P 9C and my Ruger LCR. Recently I acquired a M64 snub and have been carrying this more, so much so, its become my primary carry gun. Has much to do with the the quality holster I have, but I simply am comfortable with this K frame snub both in shooting it as well as carrying it. It's simple to employ, not too heavy, is more accurate than I am. Superb gun.

I prefer a revolver as my carry gun- I shoot wheelguns in IDPA and USPSA and I like the idea of the DA to mitigate the idea an unscrupulous lawyer may have if I'm involved in a shooting.

So folks- what's your primary carry gun and why?

Well, I sure have a lot of choices, but I mostly carry my 340 PD I. My right front pocket in a pocket holster. A little over 11 ounces empty. Loaded and with the holster, it is still under a pound. Makes it easy to always have it with me. Carry 135 gr Speer Gold Dot short barrel .357s. Not too much recoil, and although they are not full house magnums, they are effective out of the short barrel.

Best Regards, Les

My main carry gun is a Ruger LCR in .327 mag. I used to carry a 360PD, but I shoot the LCR better. I was pretty good with the 360 in SA, but DA I was lucky if I got it in the black at 15 yards. The DA trigger on the LCR is really smooth and I like the internal hammer better than an external on a carry piece. I also carry a Kahr PM45 occasionally and my Seecamp .32 is always in my pocket holster, no matter what else I'm carrying.

Sitting here with a M&P45 Compact carried in a Crossbeed Supertuck, loaded with Hornady Critical Defense ammo. It has a green Crimson Trace laser. A spare mag in a horizontal mag carrier on my belt. I practice with it twice a week.

I regularly carry a Citadel 3.5 CS 3 1/2" M1911.

It's a great gun with a fabulous trigger, in a caliber which I trust to get the job done.

I've also recently carried a Glock 19.

I stopped carrying my Smith 36 "no-dash" because the current threat situation doesn't lead me to believe that five rounds of .38 Special is an adequate defense for emerging threats.

Smith&Wesson mdl 24 with 4 in barrel. Loaded with 240 gr JHP. Sometimes SA mdl 1911 with 230gr JHP.
You ought to give the 200gr. Gold Dot Blazers a try. That's what I keep in my 4" 29-2. I also like the 200gr. Federal LSWC-HPs, although I found them to be somewhat less accurate than the Blazers.

One or the other.

Either my 3" model 60 or my 2" model 60. Federal 125 grain 357b's.
These are my only two carry guns. I just bought a Glock 43 but am waiting on my holster.

On the farm:
S&W 3953 topped of with 124 grain Remington Golden Sabres carried in Foubus paddle.

Off the farm:
Numerous possibilities but for the past year or so primarily a S&W M&P40 PC Ported with a Trijicon RM07 topped off with 165 grain Remington Golden Sabres carried in a Comp-Tac Flatline .
Three thousand flawlessly functioning rounds gives me confidence with this setup.

Previously
Colt Stainless Lightweight Commander XS (NOT XSE) with Crimson Trace Master Series laser grips topped of with 230 grain Federal HST carried in a Mitch Rosen 5JR.

Or:
SW1911E topped of with 230 grain Federal HST carried in BladeTech Kydex OWB.

Or:

When I take the Hornet for a ride it's a M&PBG380 topped of with Hornady Critical Defense carried in a DeSantis Memesis.

I used to carry my Sig 220 and Glock 27 on the job.

Now that I am an old retired fellow and don't go looking for trouble, I carry old guns that I like.

I like this .32 -

And I like this .38 and this 9mm -

And sometimes I like this .45 -

And sometimes I don't carry anything at all.

Just depends on how I feel on any given day.

Around the house it's usually a 442 in a paddle holster - lightweight and easy to get on and off, and it doesn't poke me too much when I'm sitting!

Out and about running quick errands after work it's usually a 640 in an IWB. Same as the 442, but with a bit more authoritative bark! I'm more accurate with it than the 442 as well for some reason.

If I going somewhere where I just feel better being a little better heeled, I'll go with a 3" 65 or a Glock 26, mainly for accuracy.

Back in the day I toted Government 1911's, 10mm Glocks or even Sig P226's around. For whatever reason, I don't feel the need to do so very much anymore mostly, due to lifestyle changes and probably a decent dose of laziness in "dressing" around guns.

A Shield. A 9mm till recently when I picked up a 45, which is EDC most days. On the odd occasion when a Shield's too big, it's my homely, old Model 49 snubby.
