What do you do for a living?

Served 6 years in the Army as a Armor Crewman. Driver to Tank Commander. Took one day off of that and started running a flatbed tow truck for my dad. After 13years of that and empty promises, I left in March and have been hauling logs and lumber. Trying to buy into the company I run for.

Retired due to disability. Fell 25 feet from my roof. I am lucky to be alive ,now I just suffer from chronic pain 24/7. I shoot when I can . I love to hold Smith and Wesson revolvers in my hands even when I am not shooting. Wishing I was born 150 years ago. Before that I was a ramp supervisor for big delivery company, Started on the road making deliveries and just worked my way up the food chain. My wife owned a florist so my spare time went there.

I envy you guys who worked at 1 or 2 jobs your whole life, even those of you who list 4 or 5 with military...Truth time...26 jobs in 23 years, from age 21 to 43, mostly sales, inside outside, sold all kinds of things; restaurant supplies to automotive chemicals to motorcycle accessories. Longest time on any job was 3 years prior to 1989.
Then I went and got sober...From 1991 until 2008 I was involved in the addictions recovery field, got re-educated, another associates and a bachelor's degree and retired in 2008 from a civil service position. Now my job is doing whatever SWMBO tells me which leaves me plenty of time to pursue more important endeavors like tying flies, reloading, shooting, fishing, mowing 3.5 acres, tending to the 4 dogs, did I mention shooting and reloading?

Interesting thread
Usual odd jobs during high school and college but I've been an RN since 1985, first couple of years in a pediatric hospital, then very specialized, Neonatal Intensive Care, sick and premature newborns. I haven't worked with adults since schooldays. I've been the first male RN in 2 NICU's I've worked in, never had more than 2 other male RN's working in the same unit as me. As a side note, many RN's(female)I have worked with are armed, either on person or car/bedside. We have had many an interesting discussion on caliber and semi-auto vs revolver. I'm in the south so maybe that makes a difference.

Oops left out fishing, shooting, reloading, novice gunsmithing. Build my own 1911 norc.

Worked for the teamsters once great union not like the no shows on the sopranos we didn't fight we worked great coffee breaks.

Message to you younger guys slam your IRA/401k the years fly by.

Worked in the real estate field for ~25 years doing title searching, transfers, subdivisions, high liability files, etc in SoCal. Laid off in the early 1990's.

Went back to school got a BS in Marine Biology and an MS in Animal Behavior. Coming up on 15 years of Federal service as a Wildlife Biologist==5 more to "retire".

Also OSHA Safety Officer for my office/agency (about 50% of my time). And I'm presenting a lecture on being autistic as a Federal Supervisor to our Regional Management next month, so I am hoping that will lead to something.

Wife says to get my PhD then but I'll likely teach part time. Although I would like to explore whether primates (chimps) think along autistic lines. I'm trying to start some nature walks for disabled kids, particularly hearing impaired.
