what do you guys think of model 13's

I had a Model 13 no dash as a duty gun in the 70s. I had Herrett's Jordan Trooper stocks on it, and shot "Expert" with it first time to the range. I carried it for a long time, and when I left LE, I traded it off. One of the worst mistakes that I ever made. I still miss that gun, and have a real soft spot for K-frames. It was a great duty gun, as it was K-frame light and had N-frame bark. I have never warmed up to L-frames. I prefer the K-frame .357s for defensive guns, and never had a problem with any of my K-frames, .357 or otherwise. The next closest thing is a Ruger Six Series, which I have an abundance of too. I sure miss that old Model 13...........

Love the model 13! I have several S&W revolvers and the model 13 is my favorite shooter. I was totally surprised when I first got it how accurate the fixed sites are and how nice the trigger is. If I ever find another, I'm buying it! Here's my 13-1:

I have a 3" 13-3 and I love it. It will never leave my side. My wife has instructions to bury it with me. She may, however, log on to this forum and sell it to one of you guys. How would I ever know.

Nice one. I like my N-frames but 3" K-frames are wheelguns I've grown to like very much. The M13 is what I'm after, good catch.

It was my duty gun when the dept banned 6" barrels my model 28 became a 4" model 13. It was very nice. I carried it until the sheriff went to issue only a 4" model 66.

Got a 13-1 from my little brother. It dates from 1977. He found it in a pawn shop in Charleston SC in the early 80's and it sat in his sock drawer (his wife hated guns) until he gave it to me several years ago. Pinned and recesses classic, shoots 38's like popping popcorn, sweet trigger!
Came with a genuine Roy's Leather Goods holster - another classic.

I always thought the 13 and 65 were the ultimate evolution of the M&P revolver line. Everything that made the Model 10 and 64 a classic, just with the added capability to fire Magnum ammo.

Nice piece, How do I like them? So much I have 6. 2 3inch and 3 4inch blue, and 1 4in nickel. Also have several 65s 2 3inch, and 2 4in and luvin them all!

Well now I know why you guys love the fixed sight k's.
Put about 75 rounds through it this past weekend. Nothing formal, just plinking at 10-50yds with different kinds of ammo I bummed off my buddy. It seems to shoot to the sights and the double action pull is oh so nice, wish all my nframes where as good. I've already got a guy who wants to trade a 6" 629-3 for it. I'm thinking I'll have to shoot this gun a little more before I decide to keep or sell. It is definitely growing on me though.
