Used M&P 40 with 4 mags. An apex trigger, trijicon night sights, a blackhawk gun light and a blackhawk holster all for 450. Should I do it.

I would shoot it first if possible. 40 S&W is not for everyone. I am not a fan of 40. The husband tried the M&P 40 and disliked it too. He said that it was too snappy. I recently shot a Springfield XD in 40 and while it was not the axis of evil like other polymer 40's I have shot, I did notice that it took longer for pick up shots due to recoil bouncing the sights around. Me, I would rather have a 9mm or 45 acp.
I would find out what year the gun was made in. There have been some noticeable changes the past few years in the M&P line. But if you like 40 S&W, and the gun shoots nicely, I say go for it. The trigger alone is about $40. Sights are generally around $100. I don't know what the gun light or the holster go for. Can you get a used 40 and then add on all the add on's for less money? Will you use the add on's?

Since it's 'Pre-Owned', ask to meet at a local range and tell the seller that your buying would be contingent on examination and test firing a mag or two. If you like it, $450 would be a decent price, but you could always offer $400 even and negotiate from there.

Get more details on 'APEX trigger'. Is it just the trigger or the full kit? Trigger worth $40, full FSS kit $140. Price seems great for FSS and all the other goodies. Only issue is the 40 cal.

Unless you are just looking for those exact accessories, it's not much of a deal. Police trade ins pop up pretty often and I have saw several m&p 40s with 3 mags and night sights for around $350, but those are police trade ins so they may show a little wear.

this is a gun that was bought new in October from a big retailer. The gun light and holster cost about 200 combined. I wont use the holster but could sell it and the light is usable for around HD purposes.

Personally if the gun is that new. I'd buy it after shooting it to make sure all is good. Of course I like the .40 M&P and prefer it over the 9MM version. I just picked up a new 40 compact.

As far as LEO trade ins, I have recently bought one at Buds in .40 compact and it's at UPS right now going back for too many issues to rely on it.

I ended up getting the M&P 40 it was pretty much new. It came with four mags, trijicon sights, blackhawk gun light and an Apex trigger kit to install all for 390. I did not buy the holster because it was right handed and I am left handed. I dont think I did too bad.

I bought a new M&P40c 18 months ago for $500, installed an Apex DCAEK and Trijicon Night Sights both for $167.00 shipped. $390 is a steal IMO assuming it functions well.

Congrats on the purchase

You did good if it works 100% . Did you get the stock parts back too?? Just in case.
I changed from a thin liter kahr 40 to a 4.25" full size m&p do to hand surgery issues. Its working out just fine and carry ammo is the hotter underwood 155gr 1300fps for carry. Gat a bit of bit but a pop gun not very different in recoil from a +P 9mm version with practice ammo and normal hp ammo.

yeas i have the stock parts as well and the sights are the VTAC sights that sell for 240 on thier website. I really like the sights didnt think I would at first.
