I'm guessing someone is either going to go in business and copy them or buy the business and get production back on track.

People are actually selling them now for north of $50.

What say you?

I don't know if most people want them for their obvious utility, or because they complete a "retro" package about as well as anything. I have talked to some local people about making something similar from deer antlers. I haven't got anyone to actually make me one yet.

"Back in the day," a t-grip was an automatic purchase with a S&W, especially a j-frame. I believe I can remember paying as little as $2.95. I have a box, complete with the paper towel wrapper, marked $6.00. "Fits your hand to a T. Fits your gun to a T." They do fit well, without adding to the bulk of a gun you want to conceal. There is just nothing better for a rb j-frame. My opinion, of course.

I am in dire need of a polished aluminum one for my nickel Model 10-5. Don't want to pay $50+, though.

I never understood the desire at first. You can always buy a grip that has material in front of it. Don't like the magna's on a J frame? Then buy a boot grip. Then I held one. Then I shot it with it on. Oops. Now I one two grip adapters and have one in the mail coming to me. There is just something about how it feels in the hand. I can't explain it further than that.

I've got 3 or 4 laying around in a drawer that I've accumulated over the years. Put 'em on, take 'em off . . can take 'em or leave 'em; I guess I prefer a hand filling grip. The do add a 'look' to certain guns, I guess, and it does seem that folks are going nutz for them lately.

Bought one almost forty years ago, put it on a Model 36, took it right back off. Didn't like the way it felt, & ugly as all get out to boot. Just sold it on eBay, when all was said & done, got $34.00 out of it, not bad for having paid $3 or $4 for it. I really doubt there's enough market for them to sustain a "start-up" business, too many associated costs to make a go of it. I REALLY DO NOT understand the attraction of the things, myself. Even at the MSRP of them, one can buy synthetic Boot Grips for about the same price, & the grips function much better. Many here hate the looks of rubber grips, & that's OK, yet love an add-on, cheap looking grip adapter.I guess Tyler's just aren't my cup o' tea, & I guess I'm glad I don't have to WAY overpay to get one!

I'm referring to the current high price craze.

It's similar to AR15's before the '08 election.

I can't imagine someone else not offering a similar product since Tyler can't seem to get their act together.

I like them for temporary use, but on revolvers I shoot a lot I prefer to get grips that fit my hand better. There are dozens of handgun grip mfg.'s out there and you can get grips that fit your hand much better than an add on T-Grip.

I think I have one of those that I had on a nickel 15-3. The 15-3 is long gone. What do you have to trade?:D. I could use an old set of factory target grips in need of refinishing for a 28-2.

It is crazy, but just the free market at work. They are scarce, people want them, so the price goes up. I bought too many for $5-10 over the years to buy them at the current website's asking price, let alone the recently inflated private sale prices. I am going to try to start making my own for my personal use later this summer.

I want a couple for the "retro" look with a couple of older Smith's I've got. I've sent an order to the company. If I get them, fine. If I don't...well, I've lost more money in Coke machines over the years.

I put a set of full size J frame rubber grips (ordered from S&W) on my 36...and it is very comfortable, and just what I wanted.

I put the wooden grips in the box, and will keep them for posterity...but for use, I prefer the rubber grips. I've never had the "T" and won't try to get one...so maybe I don't know what I am missing...but I'm happy with what I have.

supply and demand. The demand is high because the supply is low. High demand = High price. What company wants to run themselves out of business by filling demand?

My entry for "Longest Continuous Use of a T-Grip on the Same Revolver.":D

I bought the T-grip and the Chiefs Special at the same time. It has only been off for cleaning since that day in 1973.

I was referring to the current high price craze due to reports about the company's demise.

I think prices will come back down. There were just too many manufactured and sold for $20 or so to be that collectible, rare, sought after...etc. Just my two cents.

I have several and use them on some guns but wouldn't pay today's classified prices to replace one if lost.

I've been crazed up on ol' Melvin's T-Grip since 1971 when I first joined the National Park Rangers. I carried a Model 19 four inch with standard grips and a T-Grip to take up some of the front slack on my duty gun. I carried one on my off duty piece, a RB Model 36.

I have about twenty five Tyler T Grips that I put on guns over the years. I like them more than custom stocks.
