Yeah. The 340M&P is a $700 street price gun. The 9c is a $450 street gun. Just keep the 340 as a BUG and buy the 9c.

YES!! DO NOT DO!! If you already have the 340 then you well know its benefits, it's as good as a J-frame can get. I would not sacrifice it. After all, you may miss it and want it back, then instead of about $480 for the 9c you would need $680!

Ok, I may be a little bias. I've been wanting an M&P340 or 360 for a while, but haven't found myself with 700+ bucks I can lay down on one item. It helps that I already have a 40c, and won a raffle for a Ruger LCR (great gun, but a bit big). Naturally we NEED both excellent firearms, so I wouldn't put one above the other.

If the 340 isn't giving you any love, it's of little value regardless of the "street price."

Now if one of these fellers trying to talk you into keeping it is willing to give you that $700 ...:D

Trading in a used gun on a new gun is a major league losing proposition no matter what gun you're talking about. You're better off selling the 340 and using cash to buy the 9c.

As far as your question, it's really not possible to answer as we have no idea what you are using the gun for. The 340 and the 9c were designed for completely different missions.

never trade, you always end up wanting it back.....and If you do deside to trade, always remember the customer always get the short end of the stick.

Keep 340

Never mind about value of either gun, keep the 340. I agree it is one of the best J frames ever made (love mine). And unlike many semi-autos, no matter the situation or ammo,it is going to squirt when you pull the trigger.

It was a momentary lapse of judgement, but I've seen the light. That and the guys at the LGS wouldn't deal on my terms. I was going to throw in a DeSantis holster, and a Crimson Trace laser grip for an even swap and they still wanted $100 boot. Har dee har har. I'll keep it, even if I don't have much use for it since you can't carry on a college campus. Whoever mentioned not getting rid of it because you'll regret it later is probably on the money. It's just too cool to let go.

Glad you saw the light.
What you should really do is trade that in for a 340PD. The M&P is WAY too heavy.
11 ounces is just the perfect weight for a .357 Magnum.
Jim

11 ounces? That's less than a cold drink out of the machine. Think about that for a second. How many 340 PD's does a soda fiend put down the gullet on a daily basis? Or beers for all you Keith Stones out there.

I think it's time to dump that shop. I know they need to make money off the trade, but with what you offered an even swap was downright generous of you! They'd price just the gun with the CT at about $600.

That's exactly what I thought. I guess they were hoping I didn't know what my gun and a new M&P9c is worth. They've also got their M&P's marked at $629.99. That's higher than Smith's website if I'm not mistaken. I didn't bat an eye when they gave me their offer, just picked everything up and said for them to have a nice day.
