I own a S&W .38spl. revolver,M&P model.The serial number dates it to the period 1948 to 1950.I am not all that knowlwdgeable about the frame designations.Which one do I have?Thanks.

If you have a six shot revolver, without the enclosed ejector rod, it is a K frame.

Does the serial number on the butt start with the letter "C"?

Yes,it starts with a "C" followed by five numbers.Thank you.
