What gun are you on the lookout for?

I'm more of a bargain hunter than a true "one of each" collector, but I have a few I'd really like to run across. First two are featured in my fiction novels and it's noted that they're pretty rare.

657 3"
327JM (yes a lock gun!)
Ashland 617
K-22 Second Model
625 .45 Colt MG
627 no-IL snub
pre-29
early 57 with cokes
Jovino Effector
and sure, a reasonably priced RM

625-3 4" 45 acp
Mostly just keep my ears open at the LGS when someone is bringing in a collection and be the first one there. Found some gems at a great price.;)
I’m also looking for a four inch 625. They are very difficult to find in my area. I recently found a 625-8 PC. I was ready to buy, but having hard time getting together with the seller.
I was forever hunting for model 28. I finally found one last year, 28-2 in very good/excellent condition at a decent price.

For no reason, I want a C96 Red 9 and a 1908 .380ACP. I really can’t explain my fascination with these two firearms, I just think they are neat with great history. Probably will never pay want they bring these days, as they don’t have any real use these days. But if I stumbled on one at the right time with the right “slush funds” available, I’d probably get it.

We all have our holy grails. And we have frivolous desires. And there are things we'd just like to try. What are some of yours?

My holy Grail is a deep blue pre-lock model 27 in 6" or 4".

I'd also like a 745, a stub-nose 28 or 29, an M1 Garand, a Glock47, a CZ75, a high end stainless 1911, a 1911 in 45ACP, a PCC of some type, a walther PPK (a Bond gun).

The reason I don't have all of these is that I'm a bargain hunter. It's hard for me to justify the cost to buy my holy grail. The enjoyment I get out of guns is significant..... But not enough to justify the cost of a say, a model 27 in fine condition. Finding a bargain is part of the fun, I guess.

What's on your wish list?
Same, I just won’t pay the trending Gunjoker prices.

On my greedy little bugger list:

Model 18 in at least very good condition
Model 15 4” same, enough wear that I won’t mind using it a lot, but not tired. I have a pristine Model 28-2 4” But N frames don’t fit my hand well.

i’d like a model 16 but almost a hybrid, not a full underlug gun but like the .32 H&R best.

So I was S&W to make a model 16 Classic without a full underlug but shrouded like a Model 19 in .32 H&R.

Kind of want a 52-2, 25-5, and a few different 1911s from different builders. I keep getting side tracked by other things though.

Me too, like my property taxes going up every year with annual reevaluations. I didn’t realize my vinyl sided palace was a million dollar estate.

I have 2 on my holy grail list. First and foremost, S&W 29-2 in 6.5” nickel with little to No turn line to add to my Smith nickel revolver collection, which consists now of 4” 10-6, 4” 15-3, 2.5” 19-2, 1 7/8” model 36 no dash. All are in extremely good to excellent condition. Secondly, a nickel S&W model 61 which is a small gun in 22LR

I’d like to get the full collection of five-screw postwar K & N frames.

I currently have:

K-22 Masterpiece
.38 M&P 4” Square Butt
.38 Combat Masterpiece
.38/44 Outdoorsman
.357 Magnum

Looking for:

.22 Combat Masterpiece
.38 M&P 2” Round Butt
K-32 Masterpiece
K-38 Masterpiece
.38/44 Heavy Duty
Model of 1950 .44 Military
Model of 1950 .44 Target
.44 Magnum
Model of 1950 .45 Army
Model of 1950 .45 Target
Model of 1955 .45 Target

The fixed sight guns will probably be the hardest to find for a price that I’d be willing to pay. I’ve got a 29-0 that might end up being used for drum up funds for the .44 Magnum, once again if the price is right.
