LOL, I was just siting here with my coffee and my little no dash 36 wonder why I don't use this little beauty. Nice 37 too, love that look.

Revolver_King:

I've never heard of a Model 292...can you provide more details? It looks like it has a Bodyguard-type configuration, but there is no slot for the hammer.

Thanks,

Dave

Double-O-Dave I believe Revolver-King meant Model 242 as I see a 7 shot 38 spl L Frame Centennial..
The only other revolver S&W made that looks like that is a Model 296 which is a 5 shot 44spl..
I also note that His Titainium cylinder has been cut for 686+ Moon clips.. Plus I see a Big dot nightsight & CTC Grips..
Great Pic of a Great carry Piece..

The Gun I have closest to were I sleep currently is a Beretta92FS with a 3" 686 sitting right beside it.. Just In Case!!

RK and DOD,

I think the model number is actually 242. I hadn't heard of it before either, though I knew about the 296, which is a similarly hammerless .44 special (five shots, like the fabled 696).

In these titanium models alone, the "hump" completely encloses the hammer. They resemble the Bodyguard style, but they are functionally DAO Centennials.

RK, is the moonclip feature original with your gun, or is that the result of after-sale smithing?

Edited to add: Headknocker, you got there a minute before me. Thanks for the additional observations about this interesting L-frame. I think I may want one.

On my side, a 329PD with 230g 429421HP's.
On wife's side, 629-1 with same boolit.

Glock 23 with 13 rounds of Remington's 165gr Goldensaber's, and a spare magazine on the holster

Don't worry, there is also a 624 close at hand

Nice thing about a nightstand gun is that size and weight is pretty irrelevant, as opposed to a carry weapon.

Mine has varied, from 1911s, to a 627, to a Bond Arms Derringer loaded with 410 3" 00 buckshot, to the current favorite, an FN Five-seveN 5.7x28.....20 rounds of sound and fury and not a lot of sheetrock/innocent-bystander penetration.

Lately I have a 681 loaded with Federal +P Nyclad 158gr LSWCHP and two reloads of Remington 158gr SJHP magnums.
