-All-weather (stainless, synthetic) flintlock rifle. *I know, I know, but as long as the earth's made of rocks, that gun'll shoot.*
I'd like to have duplicates/spares of various guns which may in future be banned, and thus irreplaceable. But, not that I have any compelling need for it, is a Kimber Montana in .308, which is among the sweetest rifles I've ever shouldered, and by all reports, a superb performer.
For the most part, I rarely have any guns on my list; sure there are a lot of guns I may be interested in, but I am generally not actively looking for them. I pretty much just keep my eyes open and if something that strikes my fancy comes along I'll pick it.
Semi-Auto: A Wilson Combat 1911 and an H&K Mk.23 SOCOM variant.
Revolver: All I really want is Dirt Harry's 29
Out There: An M2 and a few Claymores are really all any man needs to feel secure.
Well if the list has to be short... I'll just list one from each category
semi-auto pistol - Glock 22
revolver - S&W 500 Magnum
shotgun - Remington 870 TAC Desert Recon, pistol grip version
bolt-action - Remington 40-XS LR 338 (yep, .338 Lapua )
semi-auto rifle - Rock River LAR-458 (.458 SOCOM)
Those would be the "ideal" guns for me to get my hands on, but for a realistic short list, I'm open to pretty much any kind of gun that I can get for the right price. I have an appreciation for all firearms. I have been thinking about getting a .22 pistol for small game hunting and target shooting, like either a SIG Mosquito or Walther P22. After that I'm going to start saving for either the S&W 500 or a good bolt-action.
