What guns are you looking for in 2020?

I have been after a particular model 617 setting in Louisiana - that is first.(That should qualify me for this part of the forum?)

While I still can a Springfield M-1A in 308. I have been saving up Bass Pro gift certificates for years, I almost have enough to get a Ruger Mini 14 in 5,56. after those maybe a Browning Hi Power shooter (preferably blue and maybe with Wehrmacht markings), (dreaming) a nice 9mm shooter Luger (again maybe with Wehrmacht markings). and a P-38 and/or PPK with Wehrmacht markings.

these days I just take my kids to the range and reload their magazines/ put up targets for them. So whatever my teen daughters point at in the store I will be more than enthusiastic to purchase and enjoy the time watching them. Plenty of time To shoot for me Later when they are out of the house in a few short years.

Edit: latest purchase 9mm AR upper.

Many, many years ago I had a beautiful 2" Model 15. Blue and all most band new. Stupidly, I sold it. Regretted it then as I still do. I will find one again. Hopefully, as close to NIB as I can find. With a box, papers and tools.....

To be honest, I just want to see that last two customs finished and sent home from the gunsmiths. I don't have a single gun I want to find. Correction, I wouldn't mind finding a worn Colt SAA in 38-40 but that whole gun pool is so rife with idiosyncrasies and rebuilds, fakes etc I am afraid to dip my toes into that pool.

There are a couple things that I am always on the lookout for. Mainly 19-2's that I do not yet have, so a 2.5inch blued plus 4inch and 6inch nickel versions in 95%+ condition. Other than that, the right combination of want and price can get me a wide variety of things.

A new 4" 610

New or old blued 4" 29

2.75" 69

I've got my eye on a Glock 40 and 41, and I'd still like to pick up a Glock 20 as well.

I'm in need of a Garand to shoot some of the surplus ammo in bandoliers with clips I picked up from SGAmmo this year

I'd love to pick up an m14 (I hate using the term M1A even if it is correct)

I think to start off with 686-6 with a 5" barrel, to become my go to gun, so that I can semi retire my m27-2. Then after that not sure will need to see what is available after I build my funds back up.

Volquartsen Scorpion

I love shooting .22 handguns, and own a 41 and Ruger MKs II and III. But the Volquartsen Scorpion has really tickled my fancy. The only thing giving me second thoughts is, for the price, I could buy another vintage Model 41.:)

The one I have been thinking of the most is a 617-1 , hard to find and usually sells for a premium but the revolver I most definitely would shoot the most. With the -1 drilled and tapped frame I can add a reflex sight easily.

I did have a later pre-lock 617 but it did not shoot nearly as well as I had hoped for. I had fired my friend's 617 no dash and it was very accurate as well as one I was able to fire at a local range.

A 617 was at a local shop last week but it was a newer 10 shot for $599. I think I am going to hold off until I find an earlier pre lock 6 shot.

Hey, 2019 isn't over yet! :) Although it kinda is for me. ;) 2019 turned out to be a better year than I thought it would be. :D

For 2020, my collecting goals are very modest and a whole lot will depend on what comes up locally as "targets of opportunity" and good, old-fashioned luck. :D As always, I'll be looking for blued pre-IL S&W revolvers in absolute top condition (mostly K- & L-frames and perhaps another Kit Gun) and to fill in the few remaining open slots in my 3rd Gen collection. :)

After we move to our new retirement place in the late spring or early summer, I'll be getting my C&R license. At that point, I'll step up my efforts to find a decent condition example of a WWII Victory revolver and, perhaps, a Browning Hi-Power. :)

Not in a big panic for anything, but if I run across these two, the bank account will take a hit.
S&W Model 10, 2" or 4". Don't know why, just do.
Savage 99 in 308. Just because.

I would like to find a 8&3/8" 17 in 2020.
Steve
