What have you given up and the reason

I gave up buying commercial cast bullets. I started casting my own. Because it saves me some money and fills my time.

I had a ham sandwich and Corona for lunch. We moved here a year ago and I can walk to a place called "The House of Pies". I might have to give that up.

Aug 11, 2021 I gave up worrying about dying. I was in the hospital after 2 weeks of COVID. About 2am I was dreaming, on a fine ocean liner sailing West in the dark. There was a celebration in the salon and my grandfather, in his best brown suit, came over to the door and smiled. The doors were locked and suddenly my room was filled with people. "Why you waking me up in the middle of the night?" Doc said with a straight face: "Telemetry said all bodily functions ceased so we thought we should check on you." I had Faith before but this experience "altered my gyroscope." Joe

I gave up PPC matches starting in 2023. No matches available in AZ and a 500+ round trip to CA. I miss the shooting but at 75 I don't miss the expense. Shot matches from 1976-2022, did pretty well. Miss the other shooters also.

I'm giving up on the doctors, physician's assistances, nurse practitioners, unprofessional healthcare, and the evil-doers in the bio-pharmaceutical complex. They are all stuck on STUPID.

Let's say from the beginning of COVID, what have you given up, either to improve your health or it just costs too much?

I have pretty much given up all deli meats. The nitrates that are pumped into these are terrible for you, and I am not paying 12 to 15 dollars a pound for Boar's Head. Depending on what you buy. The store brands are awful as is the prepackaged stuff. And Italian deli meats are non existent in Savannah

I also cut my alcohol consumption down to near nothing. Not intentionally, I just don't much care for it anymore.

How about you?

I am with you as we have given up purchasing deli lunchmeats due to all the additives. I bought an inexpensive meat slicer from Amazon and roast my own now so I can control what is in them - at less than half the price!

In that vein, what I have given up mostly is salt. It was causing me too many health problems. After these past few years without it I now have trouble eating out as I can taste all the added salt in the food to the point where it can get overwhelming.
