What have you shot at lately ?

I busted the front out of TV tube we found at the dump one day when I was in high school. I didn't have a gun to do it with but threw the transmission out of a washing machine through it. It was about a 20" TV.
What surprised me was the mini thunder-clap of that big vacuum tube imploding. You probably didn't notice it over the sound of your 357, but the boom was surprisingly loud.

One of a gozillion squirrels that have became so emboldened that they don't bother to scurry when I open the door or drive up.

P3AT from my pocket. Fired once and missed. He stood his ground.

I went inside grabbed a Mossberg B/A 410 and a high brass shell. He was still there waiting. "Was" is the key word.

What.......

This dude showed 1-3-21 about dark....

Update: You won't believe what I saw. I thought the tail was bird feet and the hind legs were bird tail. But I couldn't figure out what the top was. I thought it was an Emu or something.:D:rolleyes:

Found a big CRT back in the woods and started chunking rocks at it. We were amazed.

I save empty cat litter jugs and buckets to shoot at. They make good targets, and they do jump around a bit when hit with a centerfire rifle. They will not, however, jump over the berm like smaller bottles and cans will. Golf balls are bad about jumping over the berm as well.

Last thing I shot that would fit the OP's "oddball object" definition would be a computer hard drive. It's a good idea to make sure that your hard drive is destroyed to prevent important personal info from falling into the wrong hands...........so, I like to poke a lot of bullet holes through my hard drives. Been doing that for years (every time I replace a computer).:)

Don

I've been doing this so long and being a vocal proponent of the idea, I have had several people bring me their drives to dispose of. It's the only sure fire method I am aware of that the process itself is fun.

The latest thing, and the last time I have fired a gun was back in November I was on the back porch and I saw an armadillo in the woods behind the house. Took a couple of shots at it with my new 617-6. If I hit him he didn't stick around to complain...

My favorite "odd target" was when me and my two BILs chipped in and bought an old '53 Buick with no motor. It still had all its glass intact and was in fairly good shape. We hauled it up to the country and plugged it full of holes. It held up for several sessions through out that summer.

I had knocked the back end of the tube off in the garage and it tried to pull my arm into the tube with the suction. Like being sucked out of an airplane when a window breaks.

Last Friday it was frosty/frozen prairie cow patties while testing out my new Taurus Spectrum .380 - I put those patties through some .380 acp HELL. They tried "laying low" but when I stuck that little 90 grain pill under them they jumped up and flew in all directions - It was cow patty PANIC on the prairie !!

ME TOO, WITH A SIGP365.

I shot 3 rounds of 12 gauge and 3 rounds of .22lr........all after hunting season here in Montana on the last day of the season.....am plumb tuckered out I tell you!!!

We have a serious paper threat around here I do my best to eliminate. Also there is a strange steel disc that seems to hover beneath an A frame stand that I can't scare away.
