What I like about Airweight J frames - My 1962 Mod 37

Many of you saw this in my thread a while back when I first got the bone stocks from Mr. Grasshorn. Not really a pocket gun, but since we're talking about J frame flat latches, I thought some of you may be interested.

It's a 33-1 from 1963 with "through the blue" engraving. A couple of fairly knowledgable folks have told me they thought it was a well executed engraving job. I've never shot it, but it has one of the smoothest actions I've felt. My gunsmith thinks it had a properly done action job.

I recently sold my Ruger LCP and went back to the 340 M&P. There was nothing wrong w/the little .380, but after 40 + years of carrying I do not feel well armed w/anything less than a .38 revolver. These are light enough to pocket carry (Airlight models) even in dress slacks.

Bought my wife a M37 back in '76; smoothed the trigger, lightened the springs a little, and dehorned it. It's smooth as a used bar of soap, reliable, accurate, and has a million miles on it. When the 442 came out I ran, not walked to get one. Have never had the side plate off it, and if I'm dressed, it's on me.

Long live the J frames.
