What is it With the Three Inch 357 Mag's...?

This thread convinces me even more that I want my next gun to be a 3in .357, although the 2.75in 66 is also interesting.

Have got to a point in life am not as fond of shooting Magnums as I

.........once was but still love 3 inch K frames. I blame this on Smithnut.

One of my favorites.......................

Thanks to the kindness of a couple of members here for the revolver & holster, and the master craftsmanship of another member for the Osage Orange grips.

8 shot 3 inch 357 mag

Wow Love all the nice 3 inch magnums , all beautifull, thought I would add an 8 shot 3 inch gun to the pictures here .. those m19s Smithnut has make me drool and KEEPS me up at nights.. .

That is one of the 10-10s, a special run for LE in Brazil. Do not know a lot about them but have heard that somewhere around 50 released in the US.

Rob or some one else may have a more complete background on them.

My opinion, the gun Smith should have made in mass quanities.

Thanks....... right no .357 to Brazil.........

I would buy at least 2 for me and one for each son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Groo here
The 3in is short enough to hide,
short enough not to hit the car seat and your ribs at the same time [ouch]
long enough to have a full length ejector rod,
and long enough to burn much of the powder in the mag case.

I had to have a 66-2 in the 3" barrel, and I found this practically unused one online. Must be one of the Ashland guns, and it has the original Altamont white stocks with S&W medallions. I'll get it to the range as soon as I can, but in the meantime, some "proud papa" photos for your enjoyment! :D

Beautiful guns displayed here.

Loves me some 3" .357 even if mine is still in stock clothing but for a Dawson Precision FO front sight.

Thanks for sharing your beauties.

I also think the 3" barrel, in a revolver, is the best length!

I only have 3 S&W revolvers in 3", a 686, 60, and 65 (I'd say my favorite!).

My other 3 - 3" revolvers are a Ruger GP100 (Wiley Clapp) and 2 Colt Detective Specials.

Wish I had a few more!
