What is Smith & Wesson's worst gun?

:D The i-bolt, that poor gun had so many what ifs, like what if we had sent them all out with firing pins, what if the guns that actually HAD firing pins fired. hehe

The Triple Lock. The grips are too skinny for the gun. The hammer has a weird hump to it. And everyone I've ever seen had flaking nickle. Worse thing about them is, There ain't one in my safe.

A buddy got a Sigma when they first came out. He was raving about how good it was.

We took it out. It had the absolute worst trigger of any gun I've ever handled in my life.

Another buddy raved about his tricked out m39 years ago when they were new.

Every time I picked it up to shoot it, there would be some kind of FTF, FTE, or just plain "FAIL". I could never get as much as a whole magazine through his.

I have no significant complaint with the S&W revolvers over the years.

I would have to vote for the Walther PPKs that Smith made. Somehow they managed to mess up a classic design.

I agree. How they took a well designed gun that has been in production elsewhere for about 75 years and made in into a piece of junk is beyond me. S&W managed to not only make a big dent in their own reputation, but they made a big one in the Walther rep. also.

What in the cat hair is this here Sigma y'all speak of ?

Dave, someday I would love to sit around the campfire with ya a shoot the breeze among other things. Brisket and beans dont sound half bad either:D

The Glock-wannabee that was the Sigma. They took a blocky, ugly plastic auto and made it blockier and uglier.
Can't say that I'm real crazy about those 10-shot .22 K-frames, either.

"... made a straight across trade for a M57 no dash, and I haven't given another look at a S&W polymer frame pistol ever since."

Do you feel guilty yet?

Uh.. not really. Although it sounds like it was an inequitable trade, the M57 was not in primo shape and needed to be sent back to the factory for work and refinishing.

The other party was informed about the sigma's track record and he said he wanted a .40 S&W pistol more than the "clunky old wheel gun he got in a trade" as he described it, so I obliged him.

Another vote here for the Walther, although in my case it was the PPK/S, truely a Jam-O-Matic, even after the factory did a "fluff & buff" while it was back for other work, which was the first of two times I had to send it back before I sold it.
