I have a question about a .32 top brk someone has. They have no Idea what it is and I don't either.

S&W 32cal Top Break revolver
serial# 401xx
 
fishfind, Neither fo we. You need to post a picture or at least some better details, such as : What are all the stampings & patent dates on the gun, Is it a double action or single action, square but ot oround butt, Number of chambers in the cylinder, blue or nickel, type of grip material, location of all the serial number stampings, spur trigger or bow trigger ? Tell us that, I we can tell you what you want to know. Ed.
 
not much more I can tell you. I don't have it and I guess he has no idea.

What it is.

Looks like a .32 double action 4th model, made between 1883- 1909. 239,600 were made. Price depends on condition. Blue is less common than nickel. Grips should be black rubber. are you sure it's 401first three numbers? Should be 434 or higher first numbers.

I've talked to your friend about it and its condition. Based on that and the fact that he doesn't want to ship our drive to meet someone, I think he's asking about the right price for his market.
