We just had a bank robbery and the recovered "gun" wasn't a gun at all. It was a piece of junk cast pot metal thing like what this moron has.
But both bank robberies will go down in the FBI Uniform Crime Report as "armed robbery - handgun" and add to the statistics of how bad guns are and cause more anti-gunners to rally for more gun control.
I have yet to see a bank robber who used a real gun in 21 years of law enforcement. Our local Subway store had an attempted armed robbery where the robber claimed to have a gun under his jacket with the muzzle poking into the material.
The kid behind the counter said he'd give the robber the money but that he had to see the gun so his friends wouldn't make fun of him. The robber refused to show the gun because he didn't have one. It was just his finger under his jacket. We caught him and he admitted it.
Of course, that statistic still goes down too as "armed robbery - handgun."
