I quit carrying knives several years ago. Recently I decided that was pretty silly since I own at least 35 knives of all shapes and sizes. So I started carrying my excellent Buck 285 lightweight folder with it's thumb stud and pocket clip. Then I realized how silly that was since I am unable to open any thumb stud knife with one hand without cutting myself most likely. So I decided it was just as easy to carry a real knife as a small one in case I really needed it. So now I carry a real SD knife. A Buck 4.5" 118 personal or a 5" 105 Pathfinder fixed blade hunting knife. Lots of intimidation factor from a real hunting knife that might keep you from actually having to use it in an emergency.
What kind of knife do you carry, if any?

SAK every day, though I change out with several different Victorianox models that I have sitting on a shelf above my dresser. I have a number of of other longer, folding and fixed blade knives for hunting and self defense, but a SAK is in my pocket every day.
Boker Kalashnikov auto in the smaller size. Usually also have a mini-leatherman or gerber tool

I have carried a pocket knife since I was a kid, and have formed some opinions over the years. I like something with a flipper for one hand opening, and a lock I can release with one hand as well. I like a blade under 3 inches so the knife will usually fit in the watch pocket of my jeans. I like good quality stainless steel, and a drop point blade shape.
My current favorite every day is a Civivi Pintail flipper with a 2.8 inch S35VN steel drop point blade and micarta scales. Very nice knife for the money.
For a hard use folder, I have been using a Cold Steel Recon 1 with a 4 inch S35VN tanto blade and that super strong Tri Ad lock.
Instead of pocket carry, sometimes I'll carry a Esee Izula neck knife made with 1095 steel. More maintenance required with this carbon steel blade, but its tough steel not prone to chipping, and it's easy to sharpen to a razors edge. It's a nice little knife, even though it doesn't check all my above boxes.

Every day carry knife with 3 1/2" blade; half serrated and point end plain blade. It's so old a rehab at Benchmade is over due. They didn't have fancy names when I got this one.

CRKT knives are hard to beat for price and quality. I've carried the Pazoda for years. 1/2 serrated blade one handed opening but not spring assisted. Pry cut strip and slice, never let me down. Check out the brand you won't be disappointed. If you want sometime different and a bit of a conversation piece, check out Opinel. The #6 or #7 are good pocket size. Both under $20 and the coolest thing France ever produced.
I've carried a Victorinox "Executive" since about 1974, I think. I wouldn't know what to do without one. To that end, I have a lifetime (for me) supply of them, but I better buy a couple more - just in case.

Your TR-3 may not be the most expensive or the rarest, but it is my all time favorite Pro-Tech. You have excellent taste all around.
A small Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. It can cut, file nails, remove S&W stocks, has tweezers and a toothpick. It is deadly on wild nasal hair, my main purpose for it.

Bench Made 'Mini Tanto' Automatic for daily, Bench Made 'AFO' Style, but manufactured under H & K Contract. Both are excellent quality, & are suitable for multiple purposes. The AFO is somewhat slower on opening than the Mini Tanto, but I guess that's to be expected. Even though they're both great knives, many times I wish I just had my Swiss Army Knife, as it truly does, 'do it all', well almost !

Ditto. Same reasons. One in black, or one in silver, depending on what I'm wearing.
Plus, a yellow Wegner keychain SAK that I've carried and used almost daily for over 30 years.

Always a Spyderco, but model varies. This week has mainly been a Para 3 with black G10 handles. Often a Native or Chaperral. Also often is the old stainless Delica. Sometimes the Para 2 with natural G10, but also sometimes the Manix 2...oh, now I see what my wife keeps talking about.
Find a Spyderco Endura with the Emerson opener feature. Amazing, the Emerson hook automatically opens the blade as the knife is pulled from the pocket.
I am amazed that everyone doesn't have this kind of knife!!! And the opener opens bottles as well.

Agree; one of my favorites. Have you ever owned a Piranha ? I've owned a couple, and IMO the finest for the price of any auto I've owned ( and I've owned a bunch.) ; this one is the Bodyguard-$160.00. Top notch materials and finish throughout, CPM S30V blade steel, fast deployment like a Pro-Tech, perfectly centered blade with "zero" play. I highly suggest you give one a try.
