What kind of LEO percentage supports the 2A?

A Calumet Heights woman has been charged in the slaying of a female friend who was shot multiple times at a Thursday night card game, officials announced Sunday night.

Rosie Morris, 46, of the 9300 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, is charged with one count of first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.

A spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office identified the victim as Patricia Clark, 51.

The victim was playing cards at Morris' house Thursday night when an argument flared between her and the suspect, police said. The suspect then went into a back bedroom, grabbed a gun, and shot the victim several times at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Clark was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and died from her injuries at 8:41 p.m. Saturday, the medical examiner's office said.

"What a horrible loss of life over a card game," Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said later Sunday at a press conference discussing Chicago's May crime statistics. "If that gun wasn't in the house, there's probably an excellent chance that woman would be alive today. It's the perfect example of the dangers of having a weapon inside the home with folks who, in my opinion, do not have emotional maturity and stability to have such a weapon inside the house."

So, if the victim had been stabbed?????????

AZretired I am retired PO from NJ i always supported the right to own and carry concealed. So don't make a blanket statement. All my buddies supported the 2nd ammendment.

If you'll re-read what I said, I never said most cops didn't support the 2nd Amendment. What I said was most cops I know aren't shooters, they only shoot at qual time. You do not have to be a shooter to support the 2nd Amendment. There are many members of the NRA who are not shooters.

LEO's are just like regular people, not all of them are "gun people". It's like saying everyone in the Army is into guns. Some are, some could care less.

I think it's also regional. Where I live the County Sheriff is pro-gun and CC permit applications are completed quickly and painlessly, they go out of their way to tell you when it's time to renew. My local Police Chief is a C&R holder and he hangs out at one of my local gun shops, he's a collector and also shoots at the same range I do.

In some other parts of the country it's probably quite the opposite. It depends on the political climate and who's in charge, where you live.

You want to know where the leo's stand on the 2nd? With the unions, of course.

Firefighters, Cops Warn Republicans Anti-Union Stance Has Consequences

I beg to disagree. The heads of the various police and fire unions are and always have been in the pockets of the democRATS. Having been a professional FF, I can assure you the rank and file do not agree with Shaitberger. In fact, he had to write a letter in the union magazine that the IAFF sends out every month, during the last 2 presidential elections, toning down his stance and apologizing to the rank and file for his shilling for the DNC. Have things changed? Possibly. I'm retired and not in the firehouse everyday as before, but I can tell you that most FF's are conservative, yes even in liberal NY.
Point being, don't take what the union heads say as gospel, they're political hacks.

Hear ya Ladder! Sometimes, here in NY i feel like a drop of red in a sea of blue. But it sure is nice to hear there are more of us than we sometimes think! All is not lost...

I'd say the USBP is about 95% pro-second amendment. The anti-gunners I have known have all been middle to upper managers with political ambitions.

I am retired from the NYPD and believe in the 2nd amendment. I do not believe in open carry. I feel if you qualify for open carry, you should be able to conceal carry.
