A lot of quality firearms can be had without spending a boatload of cash.

This 1934 Remington 31 is one of my most favorite and least expensive guns ($350 plus the time to refinish the wood). A rare factory riot gun with timeless design, dense high quality wood, a machined receiver and overall fine craftsmanship. It operates smooth and fast.

What are your favorite "Low-Priced" firearms:

The Star pistols available at Sarco. Star B and Star BM...love them both.

And nice find on that beautiful Savage .32 82tsv - a beauty at that price.

Nice thread, it's interesting how folk respond to the economical brands. I'll start off with the Rock Island Armory line of 1911's,. I have three, two full size tactical, one in 9mm and .45 ACP and one Commander size in .45 ACP. I consider them to be a really good deal for the price, they work quite well and are accurate to boot.

Second up is the Remington R1 series of 1911's. I have three of them, the original offering in .45 ACP, a Stainless enhanced five incher in .45 ACP and a enhanced .45 ACP Commander in blue. I really like these guys and for the money are fine 1911's.

Third is the Mossberg line of fire arms, good working guns for the buck.

And last the Makarov 9X18 mm's, regardless of country of origin you get more gun than you paid for.

Guess it's how you read it. I took it to mean literally low price...as in it was a good deal.

I don't have any off brands but I picked this up last year. 1935 Colt Police Positive 38spl for $199. The pic I got from the internet. Mine has lots of finish wear but mechanically sound

I have 3 that qualify.
Stoeger 22lr Luger replica (I've wanted one since I saw them in Popular Mechanics as a kid) - $150.
Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special $185.
Astra Terminator 44 magnum - $350.

I prefer the term "Value-priced" ;)

This is one of those super inexpensive German Buffalo Scout .22s. It thinks it's a Colt Frontier Scout. It is a great shooting little gun with a fine action and lock up. Pictured here in an Arvo Ojala holster for a Colt Frontier Scout.

Wow, a Buffalo Scout! Man my ears are stilling ringing from the one I had in 1975 or so!

Mine had cheesy chrome plating that began to peel immediately.
