What lube between a Aluminum frame and ss slide like on my 4043?

Would not that be the result of a worn or weak recoil spring?

John?

That and the excessive use of +P and +P+ rounds. Have you ever noticed that S&W never made a alloy framed 10xx series ?
I personally never liked using the heavier recoil springs because of the forward slam when the pistol goes into battery. +P+ rds are fine for SD but not a steady diet for alloy pistols , that's what the all steel pistols are for.

Another TW25b user here. I have used it on a well used 4513TSW for over 14 months now. That pistol was shot a LOT prior to me getting it.

The wear has not visible increased in over 1400 rounds I've put through it.

I change the recoil springs every 3000 rounds. I'm not worried about frame cracking using this maintenance regimen. Good luck! Regards 18DAI

Another opinion - I use a light coat of Pro-Shot Pro-Gold Gun Grease on heavy wear surfaces. I've had the same 1oz jar since 1994. Not a huge following like TW25B, but you would be hard pressed to find negative reviews.

I use Slide Glide Lite and also TW25B. Both are very good grease for the application.

I've been shooting a lot of .357 sig with my 229, I reload so the rds are a bit hot they crono at a bit over 1400fps and the gun is still tight. Great rd , if I miss you , I'll still set you on fire.
Unless your shooting Buffalo bores 37,000psi stuff I would not see a problem with standard .40 with a good recoil spring.
We hear about cracked frames but rarely do we see the pics of them. If you are that worried about cracking a frame pick up a 4046 for practice as I don't think you could hurt one of them.

I had the 4043 on the range today and she performed well. I was just concerned about the aluminum frame steel slide thing as I understand seizing and galling thing when the 2 metals mix from building motors.
I have a 1066 and like I did today regularly freak the guys in the next lane over at the range on the 1st round from the big 10 so I don't need to run +P loads in the 40. My 165's in the 10mm are running well over 1400 ftps so if I need more than a standard .40 will give me ---well.
Only thing I struggled with shooting the 4043 was grouping with the pull on the DAO trigger.
Shot much better with the 1066 but still shot the 4046 better than my Glock 29 so I'm happy.

I think I'm going to try that TW25b, there are enough endorsements for it here although the Lubriplate has served me fine.
