Well, I guess I've been one forever as the first gun I ever shot was my dad's service revolver, a K-38 Combat Masterpiece and even after that, being the top shooter in a Junior College course as a young man, armed with Model 10's, I thought highly of Smith and Wesson, but frankly was too young and ignorant to see many things properly in life.

This Model 36 is what set me on my quest/sickness/mania/conquest many years ago and I haven't looked back! What ignited your fire?

I grew up next door to a Little Rock police officer in the 60's who later became a Detective. Seeing him everyday with the blue steel and wood in leather was something that stuck with me. Now that I can afford a few extras in life, Smith revolvers are a big part of it.

Starting at about age 13, when my dad bought me my first gun there, I used to haunt the gunshop at Warshal's Sporting Goods in downtown Seattle. This being well before the age of "political correctness" I was permitted to handle Victorys, Masterpieces, M10s, M30s, as well as Colts, Lugers, Winchesters, Remingtons, Enfields, you get the idea. I knew even then that Smith & Wessons were the revolvers for me. They just feel "right" to my hand.

My old boss carried a 686 4 inch when we went in the back country. he called it his little buddy. i thought it was the perfect handgun until i bought my first smith, a 66-5 a few months later.

My dad always owned Smith's so they held a warm spot in my heart. I still have an old .32 that was his fathers that will eventually go to my son.

Well here it goes. 4 years ago I was burn with 213 degree water from a pasteurizer in Coke. No work for 1yr the only thing I did was the therapy (painfull) streaching my burn skin for it to heal right.
The only thing I could do was watch tv & play video games. Falled in love with a pistal call mp 443 rex start looking for m&p and came across s&w shortly after got my first gun a 40 Shield. Also got the 15-22 for my daughter.

As a young Police recruit in 1978 I worked with the president of my P.D.'s revolver club. He got me interested in shooting and sold me my first S&W, a Model 28 Highway Patrolman. I was hooked from then on......

My dad's k-38 and K-22 that he used on the sheriff pistol team in the late 40's and early '50's.....still have them and they are both VERY accurate and SMOOTH....

There isn't really any competition for a nice revolver, Ruger's are good but they don't make any models that I desire.

Sheer beauty of stainless and the name... "Insured by Smith & Wesson" just sounds BAD!!

Shot my first S&W revolver many years ago when I was about 12 years old. My older brother was a railroad detective and he let me shoot his snub-nose S&W 38 special carry gun. From that point on I was just always in love with the looks and feel of the Smith & Wesson revolvers. That was about 55 years ago and it still hasn't worn off.

Even though I started with Rugers and still like them, Smiths have taken over my collection. I find Smiths the best balance of luxury and workhorse. Always been a revolver fan as well. Definitely helps that Smith is an American company that stands behind their products.

When I was growing up all the old timers in my family had either a Colt or Smith & Wesson and they taught me to shoot them. Some of the best days of my life. They're all dead and gone but the memories aint.

The mighty Model 500, satisfied my power junkie interests. Not interested in any handgun that is more potent than this beastie. Don

My late grandfather was chief of police in my home town and he carried a 38 Chief's Special which he would unload and let me hold from time to time. I was 6 the first time he did and no firearm of any other make has felt right since then. Later, I would carry a 4" Model 19 as a duty weapon and it too seemed to fit my hand perfectly.

My sons don't feel the same way but I tried, Lord knows, I tried.
