What made you a S&W fan?

The first centerfire handgun I ever shot was a Smith & Wesson Model 10, sometime in the early 1960s. I was Hooked!

In 1970, on the occasion of my 21st birthday, I bought a Model 36. In retrospect, not a wise first purchase, but what the heck.

Over the years I've owned many S&W revolvers and most were foolishly traded or sold. A couple of divorces didn't help the gun collection either!

S&W

Well this is my first post since I’m new to Smith and Wesson. My father always had ruger revolvers when I was growing up so I purchased a SP101 a few years ago. It was nice gun but was just too heavy to carry so I sold it and got a Taurus 85 ultra light. Well that was ok but the fit and finish was not up to par. I located a 438 snub at a pawn shop by my job the other day. It was like new in the box. I purchased it and can’t believe the fit and finish on this gun. The trigger is light-years a head of the Taurus. The Taurus had a light trigger but it had play in the hammer and trigger (side to side). This gun locks up great and no slop. I just got a model 64-5 3" for an IDPA and CCW gun a few days ago. Wow I’m so hooked on Smiths now....I think they are much better gun then the ruger as far as quality wise.
