WHAT NO 2.0 COMPACT 45 - WTH

I really hope they come out with it. I really love the 45 Shield, but I think a 45 in size of the new 2.0 Compacts will be perfect. It seems the 45 Shield has been selling really well, so hopefully they come through with at 2.0 Compact 45.

Give 'em time guys... they haven't even started selling spare mags for the 9mms and .40s yet. The .45 versions of anything are always the last to be rolled out because it's nowhere near as popular a round as the others, unless it's in a 1911. Also don't forget that the fat .45 usually requires a re-design of the firearm, whereas the 9mm and .40 can often use the same frame and most other parts.

uh, the M&P 45c, 1.0, is the size of the G19 already.
I like mine a lot, and will probably pick up a 2.0 compact 40 to go with it.

Shot Show 2018 is just around the corner so I'm thinking the .45 will be announced then.

As mentioned above the M&P .45C is already the size of a Glock 19. Maybe S&W will make a sub-compact.

That ain't the only thing they're likely to officially announce, either :D

Rumour has it that 10mm full size is in final stage testing now!!!!

Really, where have you heard that??? I hope you are right, because that is something I would buy! Especially if they put a longer barrel on it like 5.5" or 6"

I need to put the 45c in my hand to see how it feels.
I love my 45 Shield - perfect size for my hand.

I think I'd want the 45c in a 2.0 version - with the newer grip texture. Not sure about the safety - that 'paddle' sticks out. The recessed 'Shield' style safety is much less likely to get accidentally pushed.
I'd need to feel how stiff the safety is.

It's a great time to be a handgun buyer! - So many great choices!

I'm with you on the love of the Shield 45...If they do a 2.0 45 compact I would probably have no choice but to purchase it if it fits my hands well.........If they don't produce it, will probably add a 2.0 9 compact to the rotation but will have to wait and see what they do.....I hate waiting.....:eek::eek:

I have been thinking about the 2.0 9 compact as well.

I recently bought a 9mm P229 - my first 9mm.
I like the E2 grip, and 15 rounds is really nice.

I never liked the feel of the Glock grip. The 2.0 9 compact is very comparable to the Glock 19 in size and weight.

It's a real p.i.t.a. going through the handgun purchase permit application process in NJ, but I may be putting a 2.0 9 compact at the top of my shopping list and doing some paperwork again.

Here in NJ, we currently have a 15 round magazine limit. That is where the 2.0 45 compact would beat the 9mm version (for me) - IF it can take the full size M&P 45 pistol magazines.

I wish S&W had more double-stack magazine cross-compatibility between their pistols like the Glock lineup does. That would make my shopping list grow!

My brother works for S&W, and there is no M2.0 compact in the works as of now, but he expects it to change with.

.45 Shield and 9mm 2.0 compact are a perect combo for me. Over time, the 9mm is much less expensive to shoot, .45 Shield is EDC, so I shoot 50 or so rounds at the range, 9mm gets 150 rounds for a similar price. I also find the 9mm less tiring to shoot, which lets me enjoy more shooting.

The .45 Shield and 2.0 Compact 9mm is the perfect combo for me too.
