What options do I have for a single stack 9mm?

While I'm partial to the S&W 3913 as a "traditional" DA-SA single stack 9mm semiauto, in truth it would be hard to beat the H&K P7. It's a squeeze-cocker, gas-retarded masterpiece. Release the squeezer, it's safe. Great accuracy, incredibly reliable, very compact and concealable, sits low in the hand. BIG advantage: if it's taken from you (it happens!) the perp may spend some time trying to figure out how it works. The elite German GSG 9 counter-terrorism strike force used them for years as their preferred handgun. The German Army's Special Forces were also equipped with them. A bit pricey now, but well worth looking for.

Your 629 for my 3914 LS ...

That's what continuous searching on the internet shows. Nothing but good things to say.

I wonder if putting a WTT thread up with my nice 3" 629-1 for a 3913/3914 would bring up any nice ones?

It would bring you this 3914 LS with new Trigicons and I'll throw in the hat! PM me if you want to trade.

I think that you did make it clear...

I am the OP and I do not want another non DA single stack. I should have made that clear first, that's my fault.

But can I ask the reason? Not to argue but for useful information on why I might not like my DAO double stacks. I started out with them for simplicity with inexperienced shooters, but I'm going beyond that. My wife has a revolver and my son is old enough to know the gun he's using.

Tried a 3913, hated the double decockers.
Then Kahr T9, nice but just too heavy for CC.
Finally found perfection - the 3953.
I think of it as a slim 8 shot 9mm revolver.
DAO, for me, is perfect for a defensive pistol - or revolver:

It alternates with a 640-1:

Great. Another person in a forum about a product they hate. Do you like ANY S&W or you just a troll?

Seeing as how I have many more posts than you and more importantly many more "liked" than you, I'd think that's a pretty obvious answer.

I want a single stack with a first pull that is a loooong DA pull, whatever follows I'm fine with. But I will be carrying it appendix and want the added security of a long heavy first pull. If I didn't, I'd simply use my Glock 43 which I feel is damn near perfection.

No problem there....my 3913 has long pull first shot and the sweetest break on single action you'll ever find.....did I mention it comes with a Stoner IWB holster that I too use AIWB carry:D;)

Nice! Just waiting on that mint 3913 with low round count. ;)

Saw what appeared to be an unfired CS9 with two mags today for a little over $400. Trying to decide whether to go back. If it had been a CS9D I would not have left without it.

3913s and 3953 are old time, but very reliable carry guns. The 3913 makes for fun range shooting.
